Our 4 expertises: - Asset management - Energy transition services - Energy supply & global commodities - Risk management & market access At GEMS we encourage breakthrough results, team spirit, curiosity and innovation while preserving the right work/life balance for you. **Context**: Within the Risk Management & Supply cluster the Market Making desk provides Engie’s clients with risk management and liquidity across commodities markets including gas, power and environmental products. To manage these risks, the team covers fundamental analysis, building and executing trading strategies across the geographical markets in Europe. The market making desk is a cross-commodities desk, and this role will be more focused on European power markets. Starting contract : September 24. Duration : 12 months. **Role**: - Help to improve fundamental models. - Help to improve real time trading models. - Provide analysis to design trading strategies. - Assist traders on operational tasks. **Hard skills**: - Excellent quantitative skills: Operation research (linear programming, constraint programming,) - Strong Programming skills: Python, C# is a plus. - Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize analysis into concrete trading strategies. **Soft skills**: - Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. - Self-motivated and result driven with a high level of initiative and creative problem solving. - Data management skills. - Team player. **Education and professional background**: - Strong academic background, ideally from Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Computing. - Experience in a commodity trading environment is a plus. - Power and gas markets fundamentals knowledge is a plus. **Language**: - Be fluent is mandatory. **About ENGIE**: Our group is a global reference in low-carbon energy and services.
