The HR Staff Coordinator is responsible for being the main point of contact for our staff members at the studio. The HR Staff Coordinator works closely with the Head of Department to provide career management for staff members and ensures all projects have the teams they need to create the highest quality work on time, on budget, and in a sustainable way. This role is responsible for creating and building a positive culture within the department and supporting staff to reach their full potential as well as the overall well-being of the studio culture.
**Responsibilities**
- Understand individual staff skills and interests. Help to guide staff through career growth and professional goals.
- Track staff and see if they are ready for mentorship and/or promotion opportunities.
- Support Production and HR with staff relation issues as needed.
- Develops an intimate knowledge of the department, the responsibilities, development needs, and individual players and acts as a catalyst to help remove barriers to the development of the departmental.
- Involved in recruitment, performance reviews, skills assessment and training with Department Leadership in order to cultivate our fantastic team.
- Partners with HR to help identify career stages in departments.
- Accountable for performance management of your team members and conduct probation and annual performance reviews.
- Responsible for ensuring staff development within the business by creating appropriate training strategies and collaborating with Department Leadership to schedule staff on projects appropriate to their skill level and ability.
- Responsible for managing staff members across multiple departments with varying disciplines.
- Make suggestions on how we can build additional functionality into our internal staff database to ensure we’re using the tool at its highest level.
**Requirements**:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations and providing constructive feedback when necessary.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities and delegate accordingly.
- An understanding of the needs and demands of a production-driven environment.
- Proven track of interpreting resourcing and training needs and delivering results.
- Experience with initiating and building strong working relationships within an organization.
**Physical Requirements**
- Bending, crouching, twisting.
- Reaching above and/or below shoulder.
- Handling/grasping documents or office equipment.
- Sitting extended periods of time.
- Clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone.
- Vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data.
- Repetitive motions for computer equipment use.
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment using standard office equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds occasionally.
