At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Database Specialist to join our UniQue team.

What will you be doing in this role?
- Design, install, configure, and tune PostgreSQL databases for optimal performance and scalability;
- Manage multiregional database configurations and clustering to ensure high availability across multiple data centres (active-active replication);
- Create and maintain database models, schemas, and data dictionaries;
- Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make strategic and architectural decisions regarding the software;
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements;
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for database-related issues;
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls and encryption;
- Develop and document database standards, procedures, and guidelines;
- Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning to accommodate growing data volumes and user loads;
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior database administrators and developers.

**Requirements**:
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Architect.
- At least 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL: advanced features, performance tuning, optimization techniques and high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for PostgreSQL;
- Strong experience in designing and managing multiregional database configurations and clustering;
- Solid understanding of database security best practices and implementation;
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions and migration strategies;
- Knowledge of EU data protection regulations and security standards;
- Experience with other database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL);
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools;
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and big data technologies;
- Certifications in PostgreSQL or other relevant database technologies;
- Experience working in large-scale, mission-critical environments;
- Understanding of biometric data management and processing;
- Fluency in English, French language knowledge is an advantage.
