WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The role of the Global Communications function is to curate Nike’s company narrative and build powerful relationships, influence and experiences with internal and external audiences. We focus on premium storytelling through the lens of growth, innovation and purpose with sport as the foundation; executive & employee communications; purpose communications; and corporate reputation and issues management.
We are seeking a Communications Director to lead our Paris Communications team based in Paris, France.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
You’ll be responsible for advancing Nike’s narrative through clear, consistent, breakthrough storytelling with outsized impact.
In partnership with your Paris Communications team, you will develop strategic plans to drive creative and impactful storytelling to internal and external audiences. You will have a strong understanding of the media landscape and your knowledge across sport, consumer, fashion, lifestyle and sneaker culture, with a strong focus on digital storytelling, new media platforms, voices and channels will be key in supplying to the development of strong communications plans.
You will also serve as a trusted advisor to the Paris business and leadership team and create strategic plans to engage employees and demonstrate Nike’s dedication to diversity & inclusion, community and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive Nike’s company Narrative to reach multiple audiences and partners.
- Developing innovative, creative and targeted communication strategies, messaging and tactics that deliver against Nike’s narrative to showcase Nike as a growth & innovation brand underpinned by purpose.
- Supervise executive and employee communications strategies.
- Lead corporate reputation and issues management.
- Drive Nike’s Purpose communications across diversity & inclusion, community and sustainability.
- Develop creative solutions that take our internal and external storytelling into new places.
- Proactively build and maintain authentic and strategic media relationships.
- Design and roll out communications strategies and materials, tracking timelines, budget and approval processes in a timely manner.
- Agency management and collaboration.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
Leading the Paris communications team and working as a key member of the Paris Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing long-term communications strategies, driving Nike’s narrative, engaging and inspiring employees, leading executive communications and enhancing and protecting the company’s reputation in partnership with the Communications team based in Amsterdam
You will have a background in working for a major brand or strong agency experience with a personal passion for sport and sneaker culture. An ability to work effectively within a global organization, contributing to cross-functional plans would be well regarded.
You will be a motivated self-starter who is highly collaborative, a strategic problem solver with a strong ability to create powerful relationships with a variety of internal partners and external audiences.
- Proven experience in creating relationships with diverse media organizations and digital channels
- Solid expertise in building impactful narrative and communication strategies
- Previous experience on making high impact decisions and driving crisis communication strategy
- skilled in articulating corporate communication and redaction of press release
- Experience with globally branded organizations.
- Fluent French
- Deep understanding of evolving consumer and media communications environment and digital world.
- Leadership skills include high-profile communications, budgeting, agency collaboration and creative solutions.
