At least 10 years’ experience as a business/people leader, with the following key skills & characteristics

- Market & business development;

- Understanding & experience in Digital and/or fast-evolving innovation (Quantum, Artificial Intelligence, Open Source code, Cyber Security);
- Fluency in English (French is a plus) given that the work is global
- Aviation/ UTM knowledge is not a pre-requisite but is a plus
- Experience in M&A integration is a plus

**THE MISSIONS & CHALLENGES OF THE POSITION**:
The Thales Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) Business Line (BL) continues to pursue its digital transformation through its products such as ATFM (Air Traffic Flow Management), UTM (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Traffic Management), AIM (Aeronautical Information Management), Digital Arrival & Departure Sequencer etc.

To support this activity, Thales LAS France is recruiting a **Director of Digital Aviation **[reporting to the Vice President of the Air Traffic Control & Digital Segment] whose main activities are:

- **Profit & Loss (P&L) owner **for the global Digital Aviation activities comprising of UTM, AIM, ATFM, Digital Sequencer, DGAC-funded Cassiopeia etc. In this capacity as P&L owner, **oversee the pre-bid, bid and project phases of Digital Aviation projects **, in accordance with Thales AMS BL governance rules ;
- **Global UTM practice leadership**:

- lead the UTM global practice (working through regional practice leads). This is an AMS BL organization that was created to bring efficiency and clarity, and to address: market development, best practices sharing through a smart & lean organization and robust product development.
- **Team Leadership **- hierarchically lead the Digital Aviation team of seven people today consisting of Project Managers/ Project Design Authorities. Bring to life the AMS BL & Segment Values in day-to-day team leadership. Manage multi-cultural teams spread across the globe from Asia Pacific, Middle East, Europe, and Americas. Must act dynamically and proactively to maintain the best working environment and, support the resolution of any conflicts.
- **Strategy - **develop, in coordination with Strategy, Product Line Management and Engineering experts, a strategy and associated roadmap to grow the Digital Aviation Portfolio. This strategy may comprise different elements for growth including organic growth or inorganic growth through partnerships / M&A.
- **Market development **- work with different Region/Country (e.g. Country Directors, Key Account Managers) or GBU/ BL stakeholders to develop the UTM/ Digital Aviation market.
- **Bids - **working with the relevant capture leaders and bid managers to ensure high-quality bids that are competitive, fulfill the customers’ requirements, and have a good level of risk management.
- **Projects **- working with the relevant Project Directors/ Managers, track and ensure good execution of worldwide Digital Aviation Projects and support the resolution of delivery challenges or issues.
- **Broader internal relationships - **Support global Thales LAS and Thales group though leadership on drone technologies, collaborate with other Business Lines and Global Business Units to bring Thales AMS UTM expertise and incorporate whenever possible Thales AMS UTM value proposition in adjacent Thales offers or strategies.
- **External relationships **- Lead and/or support external relationships contributing to increase Thales AMS market position: partnerships, M&A, participation in national and international public bodies (Eurocontrol, Conseil des drones Civils, Innovation Clusters ). The Director may also be required to participate, or chair, the Systematic Hub Drones.
