We’re Adevinta, a global leader in digital marketplaces. Our household name brands, including Marktplaats in the Netherlands, mobile.de in Germany and leboncoin in France, reach hundreds of millions of people every month.
We’re all about matchmaking, and our sites help people find whatever they’re looking for in their local communities - whether it’s a car, an apartment, a sofa or a new job. Every connection made or item found makes a difference by creating a world where people share more and waste less.
Our brands are supported by global Tech Hubs in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin. Their goal is to develop common global products and innovation platforms which all of our brands can use. This means using cutting edge technology to create highly scalable, customisable and secure products and components that free up development time and leverage our access to global data.
What you’ll do & Who you are
The Global Privacy team, part of the Legal organization, is spearheading a transformation in the way people's data is used. We aim to achieve an upward shift in maturity over the next few years, and we need smart and solution-orientated people to create a team to drive this.
As a Data Privacy Specialist, you´ll be working closely with the Product & Tech organisation, and other business functions to deliver the data privacy strategy as an integrated component of key product teams and domains, not as an afterthought or bolt-on to the finished article. We are a new global team at Adevinta, so together with our DPO's, Privacy Business Partners and other privacy colleagues you will have plenty of opportunity to influence ways of working, develop best practices and evolve the role as we grow together with the company.
In this role you'll:
- Support the implementation of the Adevinta Data Privacy Strategy acting as data privacy specialist to support specific teams and help develop a privacy by design mind-set. Act as a key contact to answer privacy related queries, issues or concerns.
- Support the development of best practices and key documentation through working closely with business teams, challenging the status quo and contributing to shaping and iterating the Privacy by Design approach and risk framework, in a tech and business context.
- Work alongside and collaborate with various areas of the business on privacy impact assessments and associated risks to support compliance and the creation of business value through our products and services.
- Support the business and the DPO's with securing the individual rights processes through collaboration with customer service teams, tech support and others where appropriate.
- Support our training and awareness strategy across the business, running, where appropriate, training sessions and influencing the privacy mindset by acting as a go-to contact point for privacy questions
- Contribute to management reporting on the performance of Product teams, using carefully defined Privacy KPIs through oversight/monitoring and securing the implementation of technical Privacy controls in the Product & Tech environment (e.g. automation of processes required by GDPR)
- Continuously develop both Privacy/ legal knowledge and digital capabilities, always striving to learn from both regulatory and industry developments
- Proactive. Creative problem solver
- Solid communication skills and a keen team player
- Excellent collaborator and teambuilder
- Experience in working in Digital/ IT/ Product teams
- An intrinsic curiosity and interest in Privacy, together with at least three year's experience in working in Privacy teams and/ or projects
- Knowledge of different types of digital technology which create privacy impacts (e.g cloud, artificial intelligence etc.)
- Information Security skills, qualifications or experience (desirable)
- CIPP or equivalent privacy qualification (desirable)
- Fluent in French and have a good working level of English.
