**SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES,**

**INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST**

Strategic & Operational Coordinator, under supervision of the Assistant Director EDPSO, is responsible to support EDPS managers (including the Heads of RBs) in coordinating operations, defining and updating policies and SOPs for operations, providing yearly planning and operational advice, following up on post-operation information collection, and liaise with the IGCI on operations. The incumbent is responsible for promoting INTERPOL’s operational tools and services.

Operations Coordinator is central contact point for police operations matters.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES**

DUTY 1: Monitor and coordinate operations
- Coordination with all involved units,
- Ensure compliance with policy and organizational priorities,
- Assist with the budget and human resource planning for operations,
- Report on regional balance and crime areas to ensure INTERPOL provides operations in manner that is relevant that its global membership,
- Collect and/or draft short summaries for each operation.

DUTY 2: Support and advice to the EDPS managers
- Serve as point of contact for any questions from managers regarding strategies and operational matters,
- Provide managers -upon request and periodically
- an overview of planned and carried out operations,
- Identify and report duplication of operations and assist concerned managers in resolving issues,
- Assist management in the success’ evaluation of the operations against preset criteria, including through debriefings,
- Identify improvements to the implementation of operations.
- Assist with operational items related to statutory meetings and Executive Committee.

DUTY 3: Define, update policies and SOPs for operations and projects
- Establish criteria for INTERPOL facilitated operations and under which conditions INTERPOL can/should participate in operations organize by partner organizations or member countries,
- Define detailed SOPs that cover both operational and administrative aspects,
- Develop best practices in providing documentation and technical tools,
- Set out mínimal requirements of post-operational planning, information collection and analysis plan.

DUTY 4: Participate in training activities, expert group meetings and conferences linked to police operations
- Provide expert advice on INTERPOL operational capabilities to member countries
- Provide presentations on INTERPOL operational capabilities across crime areas
- Participate in expert panels to represent INTERPOL operational capabilities

DUTY 5: Act as a point of contact for member countries requiring assistance or information on the specific area of police operations
- Provide advice on use of INTERPOL capabilities within member country operations
- Provide investigative strategy advice on use of INTERPOL capabilities to support major investigations within member countries
- Coordinate development of network of experts on international police cooperation within member countries

DUTY 6: Coordinate EDPS support to sensitive investigations
- Coordinate EDPSO response to sensitive investigations with member countries and other internal units
- Give expert advice on impact of these investigations on connected member country investigations in to serious crime or corruption
- Work with OIO, IDPO, and EDLA to inform future mitigation and policy on information security

DUTY 7: Perform any other duties as required by the supervisor
