Job Summary

Project Background

Imerys has launched a lithium mining project (the EMILI Project) at its Beauvoir site in Echassières (Allier, France). The EMILI Project schedule foresees production starting in 2028, with a production target of 34,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide per year for at least 25 years.

JOB SUMMARY

Leads all Health, Safety and Security aspects of the EMILI project aiming towards Zero accidents, and ensure Safety and Health Culture at Best in class standards

The incumbent will be a strategic, driven and experienced HSS professional, ensuring HSS aspects are embedded at every stage of the project as per Imerys policies.

A team player approach is essential, with ambition to grow, capable of creating the conditions for both organization and people to deliver.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Alongside Project Director, and project team responsible for Health, Safety and Security practices and results for the EMILI team and project.- Ensures H&S best-in-class industrial standards are achieved in the framework of the Imerys Safety System.- Implements and promotes a strong Safety culture at every stage of the project. ; Ensure full engagement and understanding of all relevant HSS information- Prepares Project Health and Safety plan- Participate in the Security plan definition and implementation- Contributes during the Engineering and design stage to deliver a Safe designed plant. Participates in the Hazid and Hazop reviews.- Performs Job Hazardous Analysis (JHA) and participates to the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) as per Imerys guidelines and local regulatory EHS standards-
- Organizes and defines Owner's team and Subcontractors HS training requirements and promotes it- Checks that the Subcontractors perform their activities in accordance with all the HSE applicable procedures, protocols, regulations and standards, promoting all necessary actions to ensure that these procedures and regulations are respected.- Organizes, plans and participates to the periodical HS walk around, Interactions, Inspections and Audits on site. Prepares all the relevant reports, action plans using Imerys systems and verifies the follow up and the timely execution of the corrective actions- Organizes in case of work accidents a full investigation of the event, till the identification of corrective measure in order to avoid reoccurrence and drive improvements- Full fill accident records in Imerys system, identifies the areas to which prevention must be addressed- Leads and coordinates the site emergency response team and fire prevention/fighting team, organizing training and emergency drill mock activities- Prepares and updates the Site HSE Statistics, verifies the performance versus the Project and corporate HSE Objective, Targets and performance indicators; proposes recovery plan in case of mismatch- Ensures industrial and mining operations of the EMILI project are run in compliance with local regulations, best-in class industry practices and Imerys guidelines- Shares good practices across BAs- Key interfaces: ensures tight coordination with project workstream leaders, EHS community, Operations Construction subcontractors, Local authorities.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS- Inspiring leadership skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders without direct reporting.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage the regional business contacts and interact in a cross-functional, inter-cultural and matrixed business environment.- Well versed in local and industrial EHS regulations-
- Minimum 15 years experience in Major Construction projects involving heavy construction sites with mechanical, electrical and piping installation or large Industrial plant operation as HSS Manager, Plant Manager-
- Knowledge about OSHA construction regulations and lockout requirements-
- Continuous Improvement mindset-
- Detailed, self-motivated and strong commitment to EHS compliance, continuous improvement and step evolution- Master’s degree in engineering - EHS specialization or other industrial discipline- Strong problem-solving and hands-on implementation skills;- Well organized and capable of multitasking, evaluating and prioritizing a number of projects;- Analytical & Synthetic mindset- Fluent in writing and speaking in French and English language
