We are looking for an Underwriter to join our Energy and Construction Team based in Paris.

**Your Team**
Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has a long-standing tradition of supporting the energy & construction industry. Our team has many years of practical experience of leading the largest engineering risks and construction projects across the globe, covering a wide range of engineering classes, including oil and gas, power and utilities, heavy industries, transportation systems and heavy civil engineering projects.

**The Impact You Will Have**
Based in Paris and a member of the Energy and Construction, Mediterranean and Africa
- Middle East Underwriting team, you will work closely with clients and brokers to develop personalised solutions as well as developing new relationships. You will be responsible for underwriting profitable new and renewal business. Your responsibilities also include negotiating participation, pricing and terms & conditions, acquiring new business and retaining existing business.

**Some of your specific responsibilities could include**:

- Underwrite in line with E&C governance framework
- Drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, Operations
- Manage referrals from underwriters and re-underwrite complex business as appropriate
- Contribute to the development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for E&C
- Create and maintain positive relationships with key producers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers)

**What You’ll Bring to the Role**
- You have a degree in Engineering
- You have at least 5 years’ experience as an Underwriter, Broker or relevant equivalent in the E&C sector
- Ideally you are CII qualified or equivalent or working towards it
- You have experience underwriting profitable business in the E&C segment of large corporate international insurance
- You have recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and are well established within the market
- You have a specialised understanding of regional / local E&C insurance markets and competitor landscape
- Capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective
- You have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework
- You can design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts.
