Role Profile
This role will work within the First Line Risk of the RepoClear and CaLM business line in the Change stream. This varied role touches on change in risk model, processes, new products and default management. In relation with the Change leader and the Head of First Line risk, the risk analyst will help designing and implementing changes within the business line.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk change projects, specifications and tests
- Design, challenge, and deliver SA projects from a Risk / Product position
- Be a hub for SA business development, innovation projects
- Product adjustment and adoption within SA environment and among SA key partners (systems, operations, procedures, regulatory approvals )
- Produce development requirements
- Involvement in the testing of the deliveries
- Write/Present paper to internal governance
- Ensure hand on contacts with members regarding RepoClear risk matters, changes and service development
- Be a key person to ensure appropriate coordination within SA environment (Second Line Risk, Compliance ) and among SA key partners (LCH Group, LSEG, external business partners and regulators)
Risk Management
- Act as an interlocutor between the Business line product specialists and the 2nd Line risk specialists where needed to ensure mutual understanding and alignment on concerns and priorities.
- Regular involvement in the daily risk management of the RepoClear / CaLM activity
- Interact locally and also at group level with 2nd Line risk specialists and Operations specialists.
- Deep involvement in risk modelling and model ownership
Default Management
- Deep involvement in the management of the Default process
- Deep involvement in the default management process and systems; ensuring that default management will still run smoothly in the context of changes
Experience required to successfully perform the role:
- Knowledge of financial market and repo landscape, trade lifecycle, regulatory demands and market settlement infrastructure, preferably with a good understanding of the role of the clearing environment, regulatory pressures and the future direction of clearing
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial services’ industry rules and regulations and an understanding of what best practice means in running operations and broader infrastructure teams
- Proven experience in risk management
- Experience of change implementation, with high capacity to prioritize tasks
- Proven record of ability to handle analytical computer science and mathematical problematics
- Strong team ethic and proven ability to work collaboratively across team and department boundaries
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with ability to work effectively with all organisational levels
- Experience of presenting to and interacting with senior audiences
