Job description

**Senior Authorised Person**

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Understanding the high voltage power systems at a senior authorized person level
- Ensure, so far as is reasonable and practicable, that all personnel observe and comply with relevant Safe Systems of Work
- Evaluate, review, appoint and maintain a register of skilled/competent persons (including records of training and areas of responsibilities)
- Support and mentor Authorised Persons and Skilled/Competent Persons with the Practical Implementation of Statutory Mechanical and/or Electrical Regulations
- Audits of Safe Systems of Work to ensure HSE and Industry Best Practice are being maintained
- Investigations with respect to near misses, incidents and accidents.
- Requirement to travel extensively across all sites within area of responsibility
- Ensure the highest levels of Health and Safety are achieved across the site
- Experience in supervising site operations, including managing staff, planning, directing, and controlling activities.
- Agreeing scope, prioritizing work and excellent management of resources to achieve outstanding results
- Managing subcontractors and required Site Personnel.
- Assist with ensuring a safe work environment.
- To draft switching schedules.
- Issue and cancel safety documents.
- Issue and control permits.
- Manage Safety systems including LOTO.
- Switching and management of LV distribution networks.
- Assist with ensuring a safe work environment.
- Carry out inspections and audits.
- All other reasonable tasks assigned to you from time to time from your manager.

**Desirable**
- HND, HNC, ONC or NVQ in a technical or engineering field or similar qualification
- Proven experience in as a SAP/AP including technical background with respect to Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering
- Excellent H&S knowledge & standards
- Safe pass (CSR) / CCNSG / CSCS
- Manual Handling
- LV Switching / LOTO experience
- Previous experience as an HV OHL & UG SAP
- Previous experience on HV DNO and private networks
- Senior authorization up to and including 66kV.
