**Role Overview**:
You will be the founding Data Engineer at Siena AI, responsible for building the backbone of our data infrastructure. This role is pivotal in using data to inform strategic decisions and propel our AI-powered platform forward.

**What You'll Do at Siena**:

- You will design, implement, and manage a scalable data infrastructure that accommodates the dynamic needs of a fast-growing startup.
- You will work with cross functional teams to define and implement data requirements.
- You will integrate data from various sources, creating a unified and reliable dataset that serves as the foundation for actionable insights.
- You will develop data models and databases, ensuring they are optimized for both analytical and operational use cases.
- You will build and automate reports and dashboards, empowering teams across Siena with the data they need to excel.
- You will champion automation and efficiency, streamlining data processes to maximize productivity and accuracy.

**Who You Are**:

- 3+ years of experience in engineering or data analysis.
- You are adept in SQL and have hands-on experience with ETL tools and data warehousing technologies. Familiarity with Airbyte, dbt, or similar tools is a plus.
- You have a strong foundation in data modeling and database design, with attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
- You can translate complex data concepts into simple, actionable insights, making data accessible to all stakeholders.
- You are passionate about leveraging automation to enhance data workflows and efficiencies.
- You are a motivated self starter with incredible attention to detail.

**Nice to Have**:

- Previous experience thriving in a high-growth startup environment.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
- A compelling portfolio that highlights your achievements in data projects, particularly those that have driven significant business outcomes.
- You are looking for a predictable, slow-paced work environment over the fast-paced nature of a startup.
