**What is the Role?**

This is an exciting new role within our European business and will play a vital part in our Net Zero commitment and ambitious growth strategy, come and help us Power Change in Europe

You will join a Renewables business that is growing across Southern European; Spain, France, Italy and Greece. The working environment will be international, diverse, inclusive and in growth mode. Our main objectives are to develop, build and own renewable energy plants -Wind and Solar Technology, Storage and Hydro across Europe to achieve our Net Zero commitments.

As **Development Project Manager** you will manage the renewable energy development process; end to end site identification, design, permitting, construction preparation and interaction with all internal and external stakeholders.

You will design and develop the technical specification, timeline, milestones and budget needed for allocated wind and solar projects.

Your main accountabilities may include:

- Contributing to the definition of the solar development strategy.
- Implementing this strategy in the identification and prospecting of favourable land for the establishment of new solar projects.
- Managing several projects in parallel in a multi-energy environment (wind, solar, etc.) and multi-faceted (consultation, mapping, environment, legal, etc.).
- Analysing the feasibility of each opportunity for solar projects (technical, environment, profitability, connection, CRE eligibility, etc.).
- Negotiating lands rights and carrying out the concertation around projects with municipalities and the population.
- Building up a network of key players in the sector (elected people, administration, Chamber of Agriculture, etc.) to develop projects that meet the expectations of the territory.
- Overseeing the pre-construction steps; geotechnical and access studies, notarial deeds and request for electrical connection

**What do I need?**

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- We are looking for a dynamic and delivery focused individual who has experience in solar project development.
- It is essential that you can work effectively both independently, and as part of the wider SSE Renewables team, managing internal and external resources.
- Your personality should be seen in your ability to communicate effectively in French and English with both internal and external stakeholders including regulators, statutory and non-statutory advisors, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills.
- A commercial approach to all work is expected, having the ability to challenge colleagues, stakeholders and contractors to manage risk, achieving viable solutions to permitting issues and support overall project objectives.
