**Job Title: Backup & Storage Administrator**

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Backup and Storage Administrator to manage enterprise-grade storage and backup solutions within a high-performance AI infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring data availability, integrity, and security across GPU-accelerated workloads, leveraging Dell PowerScale, PowerStore, and Data Domain systems. You will support scalable AI/ML pipelines by maintaining robust backup, recovery, replication, and archival strategies across RoCE and InfiniBand-enabled environments.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Backup Management**
- Manage, configure, and maintain enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Dell Backup Solutions, Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, Rubrik, etc.).
- Schedule and monitor backup jobs, ensuring successful completion and addressing failures promptly.
- Perform regular backup testing and recovery drills to validate disaster recovery (DR) readiness.
- Implement retention policies and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

**Storage Management**
- Administer SAN, NAS, and object storage systems (e.g., Dell Powerscale and PowerStore), optimized for AI training, inference, and RAG workloads.
- Monitor storage performance, capacity, and health to prevent downtime or degradation.
- Plan and execute storage provisioning, upgrades, and replication across GPU clusters and ingestion pipelines.
- Ensure optimal tiering and allocation for AI workloads, including LLM fine-tuning, Data Lakehouse ingestion, and federated querying.

**Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity**
- Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans for data storage and backup.
- Support DR failover/failback exercises and documentation.

**Monitoring & Reporting**
- Maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports for backup and storage performance, capacity, and incidents using various logging & monitoring tools
- Analyse trends and recommend improvements in infrastructure and processes.

**Security & Compliance**
- Ensure backup and storage systems adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
- Implement encryption, access control, and audit logging across AI data pipelines and storage layers.

**Collaboration & Support**
- Work closely with platform, DevOps, and AI teams to ensure seamless data protection across OpenShift environments.
- Provide Level 2/3 support for incidents related to backup and storage infrastructure.

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in enterprise backup and storage administration.
- Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise backup solution and with Dell Data Domain, PowerScale, or PowerStore
- Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, object storage, deduplication, and replication technologies.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.

- Dell Backup & storage certifications
- Veritas NetBackup Certified Specialist (VCS)
- Commvault Certified Professional
- NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA)
- AWS/Azure storage certifications
