Catalog Operations Lead, New Verticals

**About the Role**

Uber is transforming the future of grocery & retail, building the world’s best and biggest marketplace for on-demand delivery of all local commerce. A key part of this is providing a magical experience to our customers through the product catalog.

The New Verticals Catalog team is responsible for developing and executing the catalog strategy for the French market. Additionally, you will be deep-diving and answering key operational challenges we face, as well as doubling-down on initiatives that will support the business in continuing building and growing the New Verticals offering into the next Uber Eats.

As the Catalog Ops Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of all catalogs displayed on the Uber New Verticals Platform. This role requires a wide range of skill sets, ranging from the ability to interpret inventory files containing 100+ millions of rows of data, to developing processes to get contractors to go to local grocery stores and take photos. While you will have counterparts in other regions who you can lean on for advice, there tends to be significant nuances to each market, and you will need to have the initiative and creativity to independently develop scalable solutions to these problems. **What You Will Do**
- Be the main point of contacts for merchants when setting up the data transfer that will allow us to list inventory on the site
- Create guides for engineers on how to interpret data being sent from the merchant such that their inventory can be properly listed on Uber
- Become an expert in all things catalog to be the lead consultant for the product team when developing catalog specific features
- Develop scalable processes to acquire content (specifically photos) that will be used to populate Uber catalogs
- Develop scalable solutions for SMBs when the current product solution will not suffice
- Communicate with cross-Functional stakeholders to ensure all parties are knowledgeable of the current catalog status
- Other (and frequent) ad-hoc responsibilities to maintain the health of the catalog

**What You Will Need**
- Strong Technical Skills - Able to quickly become masters (if not already) in SQL, Microsoft Excel, Python.
- Cross Functional Management - Able to work seamlessly with other departments that rely on catalog to meet their targets (Sales, Business Development) as well as the departments you will be dependent on to meet your targets (Product, Engineering).
- Entrepreneurial Attitude - Ability to create new processes and “hacks” with little managerial guidance or support from other teams to accomplish your goals.
- Process Oriented - Ability to operationalize daily tasks into processes that can be documented, automated, and outsourced.
- Clear Communicator. You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the important points, and turn that into action items.
- Explorer. The ability to self-start, investigate and get the required data, along with learning how to use new tools, will make you much more effective in this role. You enjoy being a self-starter with a proactive attitude.
