R&D Maizières Process lab is dedicated to supporting ArcelorMittal’s production plants competitiveness, quality and sustainability by the development or improvement of innovative processes or processing routes (from cokemaking to metallic coating).

ArcelorMittal Europe is committed to reduce CO2 emissions by 35% by 2030 and to be carbon neutral by 2050. In the coming decades, steel production will deeply transform, moving to a generalized usage of DRI and scraps in the early steps of the metallurgical routes for the production of liquid steel.

**Your role**

As a Research engineer in the Steelmaking department of ArcelorMittal R&D, you will be directly involved in the transition from current routes to decarbonized production routes by leading studies associated with the development of new industrial solutions and giving support to the plants for existing or future equipment.

You will:

- Participate in R&D projects associated with the development of process models for all ArcelorMittal industrial plants.
- Work closely with ArcelorMittal industrial plants with frequent business trips to deploy the process models and provide guidelines on process management.
- Design, organize and analyze process trials from lab to industrial scale, including 6t pilot scale in Maizières facilities.
- Interact with the whole ArcelorMittal community: Global R&D specialists and technicians, plant experts, corporate teams, etc. and develop collaborative research with external partners (academic laboratories, technical centres, suppliers).

**Your profile**
- You hold a Master's degree or a PhD in Material Science (Metallurgy if possible), Thermodynamic, Process or Chemical Engineering.
- You are advanced in English and intermediate in French.
- Knowledge in coding languages (like C++, Fortran, Python, VBA) is mandatory.
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics modelling is an asset.
- Excellent social skills to work in project teams within a multi-cultural environment and different factories are needed.
- You are able to travel for frequent business trips worldwide.
