About the job

The legal Counsel is based in Lyon (France) in our Sales Company France and North West Africa. He/She will report to the Maning Director of this Sales Company with a close collaboration with the Cluster President Southern Europe. He/She will reports functionally to the VP Groupe Legal & Compliance.

He/She is a professional legal advisor to support in all fields of business and commercial law for Southern Europe.

He/She is a member of the management team of Alfa Laval France & North West Africa.

Key tasks
- Provide legal expertise and support in all fields of business and commercial law, including commercial contracts, R&D, product liability, M&A and intellectual property (except for patent and design) through sound commercial, legal and ethical risk assessments.
- Proactively partner with and advise management on potential legal matters to maximize business opportunities.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Implementing and actively participating in the continuous improvement of related policies and processes, template agreements, and supporting tools
- Educating business colleagues in commercial contract, corporate governance and ethics and ensuring knowledge sharing within the legal team.
- Facilitating proactive management of compliance areas, including export control and trade sanctions, ABAC, Competitions law, and distributor compliance
- Managing and coordinating disputes and litigations in liaison with external counsels.
- Keep updated on legislative trends and changes which may affect the business.
- Supporting in local crisis management from a legal perspective
- Provide legal expertise and support in various fields of business law such as corporate law, real estate, insurances, customs, export.

Who You Are
- Have a Master Degree in french law.
- A proven track record in working with general commercial matters (at least 5 years) within an international environment, such as reputable business law firm and/or as an in-house counsel at a multi-national company.
- Excellent skillset in drafting and negotiations of commercial agreements.
- Excellent communicator in the English language (written and spoken).
- You may be required to travel to the various offices in Cluster Southern Europe on a need-to basis.
