European Waterways is a luxury river tourism company. Our barges navigate through various canals in France, particularly the Canal de Bourgogne, the Canal du Nivernais, the Canal du Midi, and the Canal de la Marne Haut-Rhin.

European Waterways owns a fleet of 12 barges ranging from 30 to 39 meters in length. These barges are operated by a crew of 5 to 6 people and can accommodate a maximum of 8 or 12 passengers.

Our tourism activity is seasonal, running from mid-March to mid-November. The rest of the year is considered our winter season, during which we perform maintenance and upkeep on our barges, as well as inventory and condition assessments of the vessels.

**Position Overview**:
The cruise director is a key role aboard our barges. He/she is the driving force of the crew and the main point of contact with the operational base.

The primary mission of the cruise director is to ensure the various client visits throughout the week. He/she supports clients by providing information about the environment, culture, gastronomy, etc.

The position of Cruise Director is a permanent contract (CDI), with working hours smoothed over a calendar year to total 1,607 actual hours annually.

The role is divided into two periods:
**A) Summer Season: April 1st to October 31st**
The main responsibilities of the Cruise Director during this period include:

- **Guiding clients during cultural visits**: The cruise director leads clients to various sightseeing locations, manages transportation to the barge, and leverages regional knowledge (wines, history, agriculture, regional specifics, etc.) to showcase the cultural richness of our regions.
- **Exterior maintenance and support for the outdoor team (pilot/crew member)**:

- Bicycles: ensure proper functioning (tire pressure, brakes, bell, etc.) and cleanliness.
- Flower boxes: daily watering.
- Deck equipment: daily cleaning and drying, touch-ups or varnishing as needed.
- Vehicles: daily cleaning, ensuring they are always clean, free of waste, and stocked with drinks for passengers. Moving vehicles between navigation segments.
- Window, porthole, and brass cleaning.
- **Team involvement**: The cruise director supports other crew members byhelping with dishes after dinner, fetching bread for clients, closing the deck in the evening, ensuring everything is secure, running small errands, serving cocktails to guests, etc. He/she may also assist during weekends with cabin changeovers when passenger transfers are handled by an external company.

**Management responsibilities onboard include**:

- **Crew management**: The cruise director must ensure that quality standards are maintained throughout the stay. He/she manages crew organization, including respecting rotations and crew schedules.
- **Administrative tasks**: Managing the boat’s accounts by tracking and scanning weekly invoices, preparing weekly reports, and placing orders (wines, drinks, cleaning products, consumables, etc.). He/she is responsible for the boat’s accounting and payment methods.
- **Budget compliance**: Ensuring adherence to weekly budgets established at the pre-season meeting. This includes stocktaking of weekly wine consumption and monitoring food budgets.
- **Customer service**: Delivering safety briefings and greeting speeches. The cruise director is the main contact for clients and handles their requests.

The cruise director ensures the smooth running of the stay for both passengers and crew. Good communication with the crew, office, and operations is essential.

This list covers the main tasks associated with the position. However, it is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned based on client needs.

We expect all crew members to be team players and to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to best meet our clients’ expectations.

**B) Winter Season: November 1st to March 31st**

During this period, the employee will mainly be in a support role, focusing on maintenance and operational support.

The employee is expected to work an average of 10 to 12 full weeks during this period, including 2 weeks pre-season for preparing the boat before the arrival of clients, and 2 weeks post-season for winterizing and maintenance.

During the pre
- and post-season weeks, the employee may also be asked to convoy the boat.

For the remaining 6 to 8 full weeks of work, various tasks may be assigned, which could involve all units of the fleet. These tasks may include, among others:

- **Assistance with maintenance**: painting, carpentry, small repairs on all the company's barges; supervising work sites.
- **Vehicle logistics**: taking vehicles to Mercedes or body shops, returning vehicles, etc.
- **Boat security**: weekly visits to ensure everything is secure, air conditioning functions properly, supervising maintenance work, etc.
- **Local sightseeing research**: to improve the itinerary and discover insider experiences.
- **General operational support**: conducting field research for other fleet boats,
