As a Retail Construction Project Manager Consultant, you will oversee the successful execution of high-profile retail construction projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure all aspects of construction align with client expectations, budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Specific responsibilities include:
**Project Leadership & Coordination**
- Manage multi-disciplinary projects through all construction phases, focusing on architectural build-outs, structural elements, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
- Lead weekly progress meetings to identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Expedite solutions for design clashes in collaboration with design teams, ensuring the best course of action.

**On-Site Management & Quality Control**
- Oversee site execution and inspections to guarantee adherence to safety protocols and quality benchmarks.
- Support contractors' Quality Control standards and ensure smooth turnover of MEP systems through internal Quality Assurance and Commissioning.
- Conduct field verifications of existing conditions against Contract Documents, addressing discrepancies proactively.
- Monitor project costs, comparing actuals with the budget to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Suggest value-engineering alternatives to optimize budgets without compromising quality.
- Review, generate, and submit RFIs (Requests for Information) and Submittals.

**Scheduling & Documentation**
- Create, update, and enforce overall project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Track baseline schedules against actual progress and report variances.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all project phases, including contractor invoices, change orders, and progress reports.

**Procurement & Contract Management**
- Lead project buy-outs, develop bid packages, issue RFPs, and draft contracts and Scopes of Work.
- Manage procurement processes, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services aligned with project timelines.

**Compliance & Stakeholder Communication**
- Ensure projects meet regulatory requirements, local authority standards, and industry codes.
- Facilitate seamless communication between contractors, design/engineering teams, and QA/Commissioning teams.

**What You’ll Bring**
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management ideally combined with a Master's degree in Project Management Construction
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, retail project management, and civil engineering with experience in luxury retail projects
- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, and safety protocols.
- Expertise in reading, interpreting, and implementing Contract Documents and Specifications.
- IT experience highly appreciated: training management, remote relationship management, customer communication
- Experience and knowledge of EU and UK requirements.
- Soft Skills:

- Proven ability to problem-solve, multitask, and manage competing project objectives. - Strong communication and negotiation skills to engage with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Work Ethic: Ambitious and tenacious, entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take on demanding projects and long hours when required.
- Fluent in English and French is a plus
