Applications Engineer BTP, EMEA

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Maxeon is seeking an Applications Engineer to drive company growth, ensure pre and post sales customer satisfaction and enhance sales cycle and sales closure rate on opportunities within the EMEA region. This individual will be responsible for managing Field & Performance testing, technical project qualification, support with local regulation and performing technical feasibility & due diligence for new residential technologies.
This position will work closely with the regional products and business development team to drive the Maxeon value proposition. The Applications Engineer position is responsible for identifying the most appropriate technical and material solutions, per program or regional incentives, or other variables to value optimize the client solution.

Essential

**Responsibilities**:
Provide technical and engineering support to residential storage in our partner channel, validating design requirements for local conditions, recommending solutions, and validating the most appropriate design and component solution.
Prepare any necessary customer deliverables, such as conceptual layouts, single line diagrams, recommend equipment specifications, review electrical sheet sets, or material specifications and engineering validation as requested. Clearly communicate design concept and high-level system specifications with partners/customers.
Coordinate with BOS (Balance of System) suppliers and evaluate the electrical compatibility with PV modules and any other devices considering local electrical standards and requirements.
Perform site visits and assist with customer meetings to support sales opportunities.
Driving due diligence and supporting RFPs or similar with Sales and Operations groups
Support the product development team in the definition and approval of technical documentation referring to the region. Understanding of local electrical regulation and standards are required.
Assist the after-sales group with performance analysis and potential root cause of items of concern where required.
Provide technical guidelines & documentation and develop performance validation models.
Manage sample delivery to customers, and third-party laboratories for testing.
U tiliz e modeling tools such as PVsyst, PVSOL, Helioscope, OpenSolar and other performance estimating tools, LCOE/LCOS analysis, price comparison, financial modeling tools, or material optimizing methods.
Work with other departments to provide best estimating and modeling information.

Qualification Requirements

Technical PV experience is required, including Autocad software
Excellent knowledge of electrical standards including IEC certifications, UL will be a plus
Experience in energy ecosystem, including storage and power electronics is a plus
Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Excellent writing and speaking skills in English, both creative and technical
German, Italian, Spanish, or French as second language is a plus
Customer facing presentation skills and previous External sales support and client management experience preferred
Creative problem-solving abilities under pressure
Ability to work autonomously to meet multiple concurrent objectives and within an international team, with diverse cultures
Some travel to site and customer locations to be expected

**Education and Experience**:
Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering is preferred
Preferred 3-5 years of experience in Solar PV industry and Solar residential installation and system level experience
