Les Petits Ecoliers is a human-sized school made of children, families, professionals, and partners whose DNA is inspired by the child’s needs and infinite potential for development, at a triple level “brain - heart - body”.
We accompany children from 2,5y to 6y in their development.
We are looking for a proficient/bilingual English-speaking talent to join our team as a Montessori assistant.
Your responsabilities will include:
- Prepare the classroom environment.
- Observe, guide, supervise, and assess children while they learn in the classroom environment.
- Develop lesson plans, that cater to the needs of the individual child.
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, stimulating classroom where all children feel safe and valued.
- Establish relationships with children based on trust.
- Set an excellent example for children and instil good values in them like honesty, accountability, understanding, tolerance, respect, love, and kindness.
- Monitor and assess children progress and write up reports.
- Ensure classroom supplies and equipment are available and in working condition.
- Participate in school activities and accompany children on outside trips.
- A completed training at an accredited Montessori Center.
- A passion for alternative pedagogy and specially Montessori philosophy.
- An ability to teach groups of children of varying ages, needs, and abilities.
- A drive to continually grow, you feel as a “lifelong learner”
- Patience and excellent observational, communication, and diagnostic skills.
- The ability to multitask, keep calm under pressure, and treat everyone with love and respect.
- Willingness to work hard and the flexibility to work through start-up challenges.
- Ability to work with children of all abilities, but especially children with physical, emotional, and/or cognitive disabilities in an inclusive classroom environment
- High expectations for all students regardless of their background.
