Sustainable Financing Originator

To achieve this ambition, we want to strengthen our sustainable finance organization in Continental Europe. The position is in the Sustainable Finance Advisory and structuration (SFAS) department. SFAS operates within the Structured Finance department of the corporate banking division (Commercial Banking) and also reports to the Head of Sustainable Finance for Continental Europe. The corporate banking division offers a wide range of financing (syndicated facilities, Leveraged loans, DCM, ECM,), domestic and international products and services to support companies of all sizes (from multinationals to SMEs), in their growth and in their international commercial development. The companies are divided into three segments (Large Corporates, Middle Market Enterprises, et Small Market Enterprises). Our activity is mainly focused on the Large Corporate and Middle Market Enterprises segments to support the rise of financing geared towards environmental/social benefits or integrating ESG criteria for these clients.

To support the development of SFAS, we are actively seeking a profile with proven ESG expertise and experience as Origination Manager, to support the development of Continental Europe countries mainly outside France, Germany, and Benelux. In this position, all sustainable finance products (no matter the financing market) will be covered, and in particular Sustainability-Linked Loans.

**Your responsibilities will be the following**:

- To engage with each local country, in particular with ESG Country Reps and RMs, to understand the local markets, local competition, key opportunities of business to focus on
- To independently manage client meetings or prospects and to establish an ESG strategic dialogue with financial and CSR departments to identify commercial opportunities and to boost sustainability-linked business volumes.
- To pitch actively ESG coordination/structuring roles with different business lines of the commercial bank (syndicated loans, LBO,) or investment bank (DCM, ECM,) as well as coverage teams
- To respond to RFPs in France or in Continental Europe which are becoming more and more complex and sophisticated and to coordinate with internal experts
- To structure Green financing or Sustainability-Linked Loans bringing your ESG expertise to the clients you follow and to the rest of the team (LAF, MMFS...)
- To actively participate in client planning on sustainable finance in order to identify commercial priorities in different business lines and to support commercial and business line teams in upscaling their Sustainable finance expertise
- To participate in the ESG training effort, bringing your expertise to training sessions delivered to internal stakeholders on CSR topics across Continental Europe.
- To cooperate and work closely with different internal stakeholders in Sustainable Finance to improve the current offer on different topics such as sustainable lending, partnerships,and better meet clients’ needs and expectations.
- To actively monitor current events/transactions in the field of sustainable finance and, in particular, the evolution of the ecosystem in order to enrich and develop our offer in a relevant manner.

Requirements

**Required profile**:
You have a minimum of seven to ten years of experience in the field of sustainable finance and/or worked on financing business lines/projects bringing ESG support for companies, and you have the expertise to actively contribute to the development of our trajectory.

**Required skills for this position are the following**:

- A strong experience in sustainable finance in a firm involved in, for example, green or ESG assessment or certification of financial transactions, giving you strong environmental and social expertise and the ability to originate and structure ESG transactions.
- An advanced acknowledge of different financings and structuration of debt markets : syndicated and leverage debt, private or public bond debt, equity capital markets
- A deep knowledge of the sustainable finance market, international standards in Sustainability, Sustainable Finance European regulations, and the Sustainable finance ecosystem (data providers, Second Party Opinions,)
- Strong commercial sense and ability to build long-term relationships with clients and to originate operations
- The ability to interplay with several teams (mainly coverage and products) and to be part of a collective work.
- A developed leadership enabling you to mobilize internal teams, coverage and business lines, and to allow a further integration of CSR topics in their activities.
- Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills.
- A strong facility to communicate.
- Bilingual English is required.
- A second European language is a strong advantage
