IT Operations Engineer

The Tech & Data department (~200 employees across the globe) provides products, services, and support to all SCOR Group worldwide. Its 2 key challenges today are to successfully implement its new Target Operating Model (TOM), to be supported by an ambitious pluri-annual internalization plan to deliver innovative products and services to its clients.

The Tech & Data organization is an Agile matricial organization relying on 4 pillars:

- **Data and System Engineering **, made of the following teams : Data Center of Excellence, Products and Systems Engineering and Enterprise Architecture
- **Management & Control (M&C) & Corporate Systems **, made of teams supporting Crews and Transversal Functional Domains: Governance, T&D Operating Model Implementation, Security & Compliance, Financial Control, Sourcing & Vendor Management, Governance, and Processes
- **Technical **, made of teams dedicated to IT Operations, Network, Cloud, Workplace & Cloud Productivity Services
- **Crews **and **Transversal Functional Domains**

**Crews are supported by Chapters **(System Engineering, Architecture, DevOps,) and both Technical and M&C-C teams are fully dedicated to the delivery of SCOR products, services and support.

Under the responsibility of the Head of IT Operations, the IT Operations Engineer:

- Guarantees consistent deliveries an operations of Products across environments,
- Guarantees SCOR processes, guidelines and standards are enforced and maintained throughout Product life cycle,
- Supports squads and empowers their autonomy to release code deliveries within a controlled scope, and
- Contributes to the CAB in collaboration with the Solution Owner.
- Contributes to Product implementation in accordance with SCOR processes, guidelines and standards through active collaboration with Squad

Your mission and tasks are to:
**On Build activities**:

- Create and Update Operation related documentation such as Operation Manual (internal design, external interfaces, start and stop procedures, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, alerting, patching, ), Troubleshooting Guide,
- Determine Product Production readiness (homologation, testing, )
- Support squads in their preparation of releases (environment preparation and readiness, stable CI Factory pipelines, )
- Provide technical expertise, guidance and strategic recommendations to develop a roadmap that ensures that current and planned technical solutions remain compatible with business needs and strategic objectives
- Onboard and coordinate specific expertise located in the IT Ops Chapters as required
- Maintain efficient infrastructure according to Product evolutions from a FinOps perspective
- Perform technical operations and / or coordinate and control DXC operations on their applicative scope
- Contribute to Product monitoring through continuous improvement and maintenance
- Create and maintain the disaster recovery plan
- Participate to disaster recovery rehearsals
- Ensure adequate controls and control reports are available to comply with regulators and global governance
- Ensure compliance with IT technical policies
- Ensure compliance and deliver evidence as required to maintain ICS controls

**On Run activities**:

- Provide clear requirements and instructions to Run team (ie L1) so that
- Product Monitoring could be implemented to detect and anticipate service disruption
- Product Incident could be remediated quickly and/or escalated to L2 and L3
- Contribute to troubleshooting activities with Squad(s) to either address ongoing incident or to define how to remediate a problem and control its implementation. Onboard specific expertise located in the IT Ops Chapters as required

Provide clear requirements when batch activities are required so that they could be implemented and monitored by dedicated Run team.

**Required experience & competencies**
- 5+ years of work experience as an IT Operations Engineer, preferably within the (re)insurance sector, as part of a financial services company or similar organization

Hard skills
- Strong experience of Business & IT Agile ways of working (SCRUM, Kanban)
- Deep and wide understanding of Security and Network principles is mandatory; firewall content filter, proxy, IPS, threat assesment tools, vulnerability scanners,
- Strong expertise with the following (or similar) technologies:

- Operating Systems (Linux, Windows) & Networking (DNS, routing, etc )
- Application Servers and databases
- Authentication services
- Public Cloud technologies and specificities
- Containerization and Kubernetes
- DataBricks
- Hands on experience with Monitoring, Patching, Backup, Process Automation, Disaster Recovery, High Availibility,
- Fluent in English
