Position Summary:
- The Process Safety Engineer supports the Additives Operations manager to ensure the HSE integrity of the Berre Additives units. He is responsible to assess the HSE risks of any change in the Berre Additives plant from small MOCs to major projects. He has to find compromise between meeting HSE standards/requirements while keeping cost effective solutions. He coaches the process engineers and helps them improving their knowledge in process safety. He supports the Operations manager on any process safety issues. He leads the Additives Safety studies and finds solutions to mitigate the highest risks. He presents these highest risks to the management and helps for defining action plan. He is the focal point to the Environmental French Agency (DREAL) to ensure regulatory compliance and to maintain a good relationship_
Key Outputs: What we can expect from you
- _Act as the process safety focal point of the Additives Operations group and as the Additives representative for the Environmental French Agency (DREAL)_
- _Organise DREAL visit to the Additives and follow-up on associated actions plan_
- _Update the safety studies of the Additives units in line with French regulation_
- _Lead HSE risk assessments as needed_
- _Lead process safety risks assessment of any modifications in the plant (MOCs, projects) ensuring standards and regulation compliance_
- _Act as the focal point for the HAZOP/LOPA methodology_
- _Promote process safety on site notably by coaching contact engineers and helping them to develop expertise. Share learnings from incidents._
- _Valide the SIF classification of the instrumented safety loops_
- _Support the Operations manager in the root cause analysis of incidents or near-miss_
- _Act as the focal point to elaborate the consequence gravity level of process safety incidents_
- _Support the Operations manager to meet the operating permit requirements_
- _Lead the operating permit update if needed_
- _Lead process safety audits in the field_
- _Participate in corporate or external audits related to HSE_
- _Support elaboration and update of the explosion domains_
- _Support emergency response drills_
**What skills will you gain from this role?**
- _Develop a deep expertise in process safety: risk assessments, HSE design standards and regulatory requirements, _
- _Manage an external regulatory interface (DREAL)_
- _Develop knowledge of all the Berre manufacturing units and the Infineum business_
- _Develop a network within the Berre Additives Manufacturing group_
- _Master degree in chemical engineering_
- _Ten years minimum experience in manufacturing with work on processes and process safety_
- _Strong interpersonal skills_
- _Good at knowledge transfer aiming at developing people’s expertise_
- _Good listener_ - _Ability to interact with others in local and international environments_
- _Comfortable with pressure, being able to take a step back_
- _Ability to establish consensus for the interest of Infineum by influencing diverse interfaces_
- _Ability to understand, gather and synthesize information._
- _Ability to communicate clearly and concisely about potentially complex issues._
- _Well organized and rigorous_
