Job opening: Sustainable Financing Business Analyst, Sustainable Finance (H/F).
To achieve this ambition, we want to strengthen our sustainable finance organization in Continental Europe. The position is within the Sustainable Finance Advisory and structuration (SFAS) department, within the Structured Finance department of the corporate banking division (Commercial Banking) of HSBC Continental Europe. The corporate banking division offers a wide range of financing (syndicated facilities, LBO, DCM, ECM,), domestic and internationals product and services to support companies of all sizes, from multinationals to SMEs, in their growth and in their international commercial conquest dynamics. The companies are divided into three segments (Large Corporate, Middle Market Enterprises, et Small Market Enterprises) and your activity will be mainly focused on the Large Corporate and Middle Market Enterprises segments to support the rise of financing geared towards environmental/social benefits or integrating ESG criteria for these clients.
To support the development of SFAS, we are actively seeking a ESG Business Analyst, with ESG skills and strong knowledge in Sustainable Finance. In this position, aiming to cover all the sustainable finance products (no matter the financing market) and in particular Sustainability-Linked Loans, your responsibilities will be:
- To support actively the origination activity preparing client presentations and maintaining the ESG dialogue with the clients which involve : collecting and analyzing ESG data and information, peers comparisons, sector research, recommendations on ESG structuration options adapted to the financing, recommendation regarding our mutipartnership, etc
- To respond to RFPs in Continental Europe which are becoming more and more complex and sophisticated and coordinate with internal experts
- To be fully involved on execution by structuring Green financing or Sustainability-Linked Loans with SFAS originators, and also structure processes with internal stakeholders
- To participate to the ESG training effort, bringing your expertise to training sessions delivered to internal stakeholders on CSR topics across Continental Europe.
- To cooperate and work closely with different internal stakeholders in Sustainable Finance on the activity developed by the team.
- To actively monitor current events/transactions/ ESG news on sustainable finance and, in particular, the evolution of the ecosystem in order to enrich and develop our offer in a relevant manner.
Requirements
You have acquired a sustainable finance and corporate financing expertise through your academic background and experiences in this area.
Required skills for this position are the following:
- A solid knowledge of sustainable finance as well as corporate financing/debt markets are desired
- High degree of analytical thinking.
- Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills.
- Motivated individual and team player
- Fluency in English. Second European language of advantage
