Junior System Engineer

Junior System Engineer is needed for the execution of the contract, for the project activities and for the operational activities once the environments have been created. It is required that the roles are fulfilled on site in Strasbourg and that the engineer in question has a security clearance on EU-secret level. System Engineer is responsible to: Install and configure the Back Up and operating systems infrastructure Maintain the Back Up and operating systems infrastructure. Acknowledge, troubleshoot and resolve tickets that are assigned to the team in a correct way.
Escalate incidents internally or to 3rd party partners when required. Participate, on a punctual basis, on specific projects related to her/his specialty Reports to: eu-LISA Eurodac Service Desk Manager eu-LISA Eurodac Service Delivery manager. In close relations with: ATOS' Infrastructure Operations Team; Eurodac Incident Manager; Eurodac Problem Manager; Eurodac Change Manager; Duties: Maintains and adapts the configuration of server software and system components life cycle Management; Maintains the infrastructure: Incident resolution, Problem resolution; Troubleshooting, co-ordination with third party suppliers as well as with the central IT department of the customer; Advises the project team and eu-LISA in areas such as capacity management; Contingency planning, environment planning, configuration management and other relevant tasks related to the role; Coordinates with Technical Architects and Project Managers and implements RHEL based solutions; Maintains the relevant documents/manuals describing the system and its infrastructure; Participates in standby 7x24 (1 week per month); Provides input for Incidents/Problems/Defects post closure analysis to the Eurodac Incident/Problem Manager and/or the Technical Team Leader; Provides input to organize regular knowledge transfer sessions; Working Conditions: Work shifts of 8 hours covering the time range between 08h30 and 18h30 from Monday to Friday with some flexibility required when overtime is exceptionally needed. Languages: English proficient (CEFRL Level: Minimum B2, Ideally C1) Preferable 2nd language: French Location: Strasbourg, France Education: Bachelor or Master degree in IT or equivalent with valid professional IT certifications in the domain of administration/operations of Redhat systems.
