We have an exciting opportunity for a **Senior Surveyor** to lead the growth of our Maritime business in **France.** This role offers the chance to shape a new business branch and build a strong local team. We’re looking for an experienced surveyor with deep knowledge of the French market.

**What you will be doing.**:
As our** Senior Surveyor,** you will play a key role in developing ABL France’s Maritime business. You will collaborate closely with our UK team while establishing a strong local presence. In addition, you will:

- To be responsible for supporting ABL France’s Maritime business.
- Develop expertise across all business lines, understanding key services and deliverables.
- Attend casualty investigations, assess damage, determine causes, and estimate repair costs.
- Prepare detailed reports for clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Manage project documentation, reviewing and notifying relevant stakeholders of key findings.
- Oversee and conduct operations, coordinating inspectors and consultants when necessary.
- Drive business development efforts, promoting engineering consulting services locally and internationally.
- Support marketing initiatives to enhance visibility and growth of the business line.
- Maintain a billable utilization rate above 60%, ensuring effective time management.
- Uphold Quality & HSE responsibilities, promoting compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

**What we are looking for.**:
We are seeking a proactive and solution-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and leadership skills. In addition you will have:

- STCW Class 1 Chief Engineer (or equivalent) with significant survey/consultancy experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in the maritime industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the French maritime market and client base.
- Strong decision-making ability, technical expertise, and analytical skills with a focus on operational excellence.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead teams, manage multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality work on time.

**Desirable Skills**:

- Worked with P&I clubs, H&M, and Ports & Harbours, establishing strong industry connections.
- Maintains a solid client base within the maritime sector.
- Develop and execute a business plan targeting the local market, with a strategic vision for growth.
- Proactive in developing new business opportunities in France, with a focus on building and growing a strong team.
