**We are looking for**:
A Permanent Controller to work within the Risk and Compliance Department in Paris Branch and this role will report to the Head of Risk and Compliance and Data Protection Officer of the Branch.

**Your day-to-day responsibilities**:
The prime purpose for the role will be to carry out independent controls of business, treasury, operations, compliance, finance, etc. The role also involves:

- Perform an ongoing programme on control monitoring and testing on all first level of controls of the Branch;
- Monitoring departments' timely implementation of risk and compliance recommendations;
- Working with different business areas to ensure they are compliant to the Branch’s procedures and SOPs;
- Investigating control failures whilst promoting the robust compliance & risk awareness culture of the Branch;
- Administration of the Permanent Control thematic reviews, in collaboration with the Compliance Officer and under the supervision of the Head of Risk and Compliance;
- Undertake analysis and prepare management reporting and analysis form on all permanent controls (as a second level of controls);
- Undertake a series of procedures, some of which may be complex in nature, working in an organized manner;
- Plan, organize and prioritize your own workload;
- Monitor the system to check its reliability and relevance, and report on it in accordance with company procedures;
- Assess employees' compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
- Ensure that controls and procedures are in place;
- Analyze and assess risk exposure and propose improvement plans;
- Check that the Branch complies with laws, regulations and professional standards;
- Guarantee the quality and security of information systems.
- Daily interactions with UK team, UK Business trips will be expected.

**Person/Experience required**:

- 5 years' higher education in banking/finance (university, engineering school, business school, Institut d'Etudes Politiques in controls, economics, finance, etc.).
- Knowledge of mathematical and financial analysis techniques, banking regulations, auditing and control techniques. Capacities to have a cross-business vision.
- Communication: Appropriate written/verbal communication in French and English to effectively carry out role.
- Team Working: Collaboration with own team, other employees and directors.
- Results Focus: Drive to achieve objectives/results.
- Influencing/Persuading: Ability to obtain agreement and cooperation through consensus.
- Information Gathering: Collects detailed information from a wide range of sources, using relevant means.

**Key skills**:

- Proficient with Microsoft Pack Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Excellent organisation skills with good attention to detail.
