We are looking for a **Senior Process Integration Engineer - Process & Device Modeling** to join our Foundiers and Process Integration team. In this role, you will bridge front-end and back-end nanofabrication with device performance by modeling how material properties, process parameters and variations impact superconducting qubit behavior. You will help guide process development, support the design of test structures, and contribute to improving chip performance, yield, and reliability.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain models of nanofabrication processes (lithography, etching, oxidation, deposition, packaging) and link them to device performance metrics (Qi, T1, inductance uniformity, etc.).
- Model the impact of process variations (thickness, linewidth, resistivity, junction parameters, etc.) on device and circuit performance, performing tolerance and sensitivity analyses.
- Collaborate with design team to define and validate new test structures that benchmark process stability and device behavior.
- Model superconducting material properties and associated loss channels and propose methods to mitigate them.
- Contribute to the equipment strategy for process and material testing (e.g., cryogenic probe station or He³ cryostat with DC lines, CIPT, etc.), including evaluation, acquisition, and validation.
- Analyze experimental and characterization data to refine and validate models (SPC, DOE, regression, machine learning approaches).
- Propose and support process improvement plans based on modeling-driven insights.
- Participate in the validation of new equipment for both FE & BE nanofabrication, including correlation of metrology with device modeling.
- Support technology transfer to and from external foundries, ensuring design and process compatibility through predictive modeling.
- Document and communicate modeling approaches, results, and recommendations across teams.
**Requirements**:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science.
- 5+ years of experience of process and device modeling preferably in the field of superconducting circuits.
- Strong background in semiconductor/superconductor device modeling and process variation analysis.
- Knowledge of superconducting materials and devices, including loss mechanisms (dielectric loss, interface loss, quasiparticles).
- Proficiency with simulation, modeling and design tools (e.g., COMSOL, Ansys EDT, Python and Klayout for custom modeling).
- Experience designing and analyzing loss test structures (CPW resonators, junction test devices).
- Familiarity with statistical and data-driven approaches (SPC, DOE, machine learning) is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams.
