The internship will be in the News-O-Matic team, part of the Bayard group.
News-O-Matic is an educational news platform for children aged 6 to 14 years old, used by 3 million students and educators in the USA and across the world. It belongs to the Bayard Group since 2023.
Every day, our team of journalists publish safe, original news articles, available in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Mandarin. News-O-Matic articles allow students to ignite curiosity, develop a sense of the world, and make connections across history, culture, geography, science, technology and the arts. Each article includes differentiated texts, audio recordings, eye-catching graphics, videos, and interactive features. The platform also includes a powerful dashboard for teachers, with tools to manage their classes, lesson plans and quizzes.
Our teams work closely with teachers, education specialists and child psychologists, in order to create educational and engaging experiences for them.
**Mission**:
Within a small team ready to give you responsibilities, you will assist our Director of Operations on the development of new features for our platform. Work will consist of:
- Writing technical specifications documents to brief our developers on back-to-school new features.
- Handling the relationship with team members to gather all necessary assets for the briefs to be complete, and for the projects to be successful.
- Creating and maintaining Jira tickets to communicate with our developers and track status.
- Managing testing on our different platforms and digital environments.
You will be working in an innovative, dynamic, and international environment, with people having a great experience in start-ups. You will have real operational responsibilities. You will be involved in various topics that will give you a wide overview of the business.
**Profil**:
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Experience with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Drive ; experience with Jira is a plus
- Excellent writing skills in English (technical specifications documents are written in English)
- Initiative, creativity and rigor
- Minimum of 4/5 years of higher education, business school or equivalent is preferred.
