Jacobs one of three partners making up the Consortium MOMENTUM (construction management-as-agent contractor) is project managing the construction and assembly of more than one million components in world’s largest fusion reactor.

As construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include balance of plant and the Tokomak itself. Jacobs is recruiting for a **Piping Supervisor (F/H)** with **at least 15 years of experience** to work on the ITER Project near Aix-en-Provence, France.

He/She will be responsible for:

- Takes direction from and interacts directly with the CMA Site Construction Manager (CM) and represents CM when required on site. He reports daily to him (activity level on site, contractors’ hours and resources, progress of work, issues met, working environment, safety and housekeeping, etc. as described in Supervision Procedure ref ITER_D_UBEJWM). He may participate to construction meetings upon request.
- Is directly accountable for the safe delivery of site construction. Reviews and understands the contractors Risk Assessments and JIRA documents and anticipates potential hazards. Uses his hazard awareness experience of construction safety to manage site safety and makes safety interventions with site personnel when required.
- Is familiar with instructed Construction Work Packages (CWP) scope of work, and reviews contractors Installation Work Package (IWP) documentation (includes documents such as Method statements, risk assessments, ITPs, detailed schedule, etc.).
- Fully understands, “owns” and implements the construction schedule, being fully familiar with sequences and priorities for near-term plans (e.g. 3 week look-ahead) and longer-term plans (e.g. 1 year look-ahead). Reacts and proposes activities adjustments according to unexpected situations that occur at site, to maintain schedules and minimize overall impacts to the ITER Project.
- Supports site coordination team in interpreting construction sequences and interfaces and secures with Contractor on site the coordination planning.
- Supervises the construction activities of one or more contractors and may contribute to other contracts if needed and according to workload. He ensures that applicable construction standards and safety precautions are respected. NOTA: Any instructions and directions given to the contractors shall be within the Contract scope (the construction supervisor is not authorized to change by himself scope, quality or incur extra cost or schedule impacts).
- Supervises any completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning or preservation activities, including punch list works, as-built document review and completion dossier review as required.
- Spends approximately 50% to 80% of time in the field, according to activities and priorities defined with CM. Works Normal Hours or Shift Pattern hours (typically 6:00am to 14:00pm, or 14:00pm to 22:00pm) to suit the working hours of the contractor on site.
- Collaborates with various CMA or ITER Teams (Coordination, Schedule, Cost, and Quality) to share information, and get / provides technical advice.
- Contributes with coordination to the coordination of material deliveries to site, contractor offloading and laydown areas, preservation of materials and installed equipment during construction (protection, and remedial works in case of deterioration) including planning and anticipation of any maintenance on IO or contractor supplied tools and equipment that may impact construction schedules. This is according to applicable Construction Works Supervision procedures.
- Other duties as required by his management line
