**General**

Reporting to Marlink Enterprise Field Operations, the Field Engineer France is in charge to manage the development, support, installation, and maintenance of all equipment’s deployed for French Government and large organizations.
He is responsible for
- Installation, service and maintenance of VSAT/ MSSequipment’s and other communication & tracking devices for French Large customers.
- Development of specific customised solutions using electronic & communication means.
- Maintenance and testing of large parc of materials (MSS/ VSAT/ Tracking) for Gov and Non-Gov customers

**Main Goals**

Field engineer duties usually include inspecting and installing equipment and new technologies, directing crews or workers on site, conducting research, and reporting on project status. Field engineers will make sure that everything works smoothly, and engineering designs are being followed.

**Responsibilities and Authorisation** Must have a CD clearance (French native + clearance under Marlink Events SAS)

**Main task**
- Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues
- Conduct research and studies on site
- Manage field activities and implement engineering designs
- Diagnose construction or machinery problems
- Resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise
- Oversee repairs and technical improvements
- Install new systems and technology
- Inspect and test material and machinery for safety
- Ensure proper maintenance of onsite equipment
- Supervise and direct onsite crew (e.g. technicians)
- Draft and submit reports

**Main knowledge**
- Higher education in IT, Datacom or Telecom (Engineer degree is a plus)
- Proven experience in Electronic Engineering development
- Direct technical support to local partner engineers during installation, service and maintenance of VSAT equipment
- Implementation of pilot projects or new technologies and preparation of appropriate and detailed documentation related to these projects
- Cooperate with other departments to solve technical problems on MSS/ VSAT or tracking equipment’s
- Previous experience as a field engineer or similar role
- Well-versed in technical aspects of field projects, including machinery and equipment
- Understanding of safety guidelines
- Attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills
- An analytical mind and strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to work in adverse weather and occasional overtime and weekends
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar field
- Assist and execute tests on a new / unknown equipment in cooperation with other
- Departments (...)
- Capable of building rapport with faculty and earning their trust
- Education and experience in the engineering and delivery of telecommunication services via satellite, radio and fiber and of Information Technology
- French Native and Fluent in English
