Internship - Mechanical Sizing Engineer Pressurized Tanks (Fea)

Our aim is to successfully design and test a cost-effective and reusable mini-launch vehicle by 2026.
We are looking for an Intern mechanical sizing engineer to join one of our agile multi-disciplinary teams in charge of the development of the stages of the Maia Launch Vehicle. You will be attached to the Upper Stage team, working closely with the First Stage team. You will be working in the mechanical optimization of pressurized structures for both stages from design exploration to test.
Your tasks will be the following:
- finite element analysis of metallic structure with focal point on welds
- preliminary analysis of explorative designs using analytical or finite element analysis
- analytical or finite element analysis (static, buckling) to support the design, optimization and justification of structures. Finite element analysis may be linear or non-linear
- Perform test prediction, test follow-up and post processing of the selected designs

**Specific competences & abilities**:
- knowledge and experience in structural mechanics
- Experience in finite element modelling and analysis (Hypermesh preferred, Ansys)
- Knowledge on metallic material properties is appreciated
- English level sufficient to read and write technical documentation, to perform oral technical presentation and to interact on technical topics
- CAD skills (solidworks) are appreciated
**Qualification**:
- knowledge and experience in structural mechanics
- Final Year engineering student or master’s student in the field of mechanical engineering, material engineering, aerospace engineering.

The company allows home office when it is compatible with your responsibilities.
