Circular Solutions Project Manager

**Location**:Virtual within person working opportunities in Tampa, FL, and Paris, France. The Perpetual team is distributed geographically, so the role also requires working with a virtual team.

is demonstrating the power of reuse and refill solutions to address single-use plastic waste and pollution, while also decreasing human exposure to toxic chemicals, reducing GHG emissions, and creating new jobs and local economic resilience. As a non-profit organization, Perpetual works at the system level, bringing together municipalities, community-based organizations, local businesses, and other stakeholders to design and implement city-scale reuse operations that are economically viable, healthy and safe, and environmentally superior to disposables. Perpetual’s primary focus is working with four US cities to stand up city-wide reusable foodware systems, as a starting point for reusable packaging. Additionally, the Perpetual team is recognized internationally for its unique technical and operational reuse expertise, and provides expert advisory services to organizations/projects such as the United Nations Environment Programme, Plastic Reboot (a Global Environment Facility project), CalRecycle, and Circular Action Alliance.

The Circular Solutions Project Manager’s portfolio will include a combination of leading advisory projects and supporting or leading Perpetual’s design and implementation work with our partner cities. The balance of these activities is expected to vary over time depending on project needs and timelines and to ensure a manageable workload.

Perpetual’s advisory projects typically involve describing and evaluating existing and potential reuse and refill solutions, conducting expert interviews, gathering and analyzing data to generate financial, operational, and impact metrics and insights, researching and writing case studies, creating educational materials, and engaging productively with a broad range of stakeholders from around the world, all completed with exceptional project management and communication skills.

Perpetual’s design and implementation work in our partner cities typically involves working with and managing a broad coalition of local stakeholders including municipal leadership and staff, local nonprofits / community organizations, local businesses, and other local stakeholders, creating and managing detailed implementation plans and budgets, figuring out how to translate the System Design concepts into physical reality working with internal and external experts, and assisting in the management and reporting of federal and foundation grants supporting the project (in collaboration with Perpetual’s Grant Administrator), also all completed with exceptional project management and communication skills.

**Skills and Experience**
- Strategic design thinking and strong problem-solving skills
- Exceptional project management skills: well-organized, detail oriented, able to manage complex projects, and experience creating and managing plans and budgets for complex projects
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills: capable in spreadsheets and doing quantitative analysis
- Ability to design presentation decks and materials for virtual events, webinars, and workshops
- Capacity to juggle multiple competing projects and deliverable timelines
- Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders (i.e., city governments, local businesses, operational partners)
- Cross-cultural communication skills, comfortable interacting and working with people from around the world and many different social and cultural contexts
- A strong interest in and awareness of sustainability concepts related to the circular economy, waste reduction, reusable foodware systems and/or behavior change
- Reuse system experience strongly preferred; expertise in the circular economy considered

**Expected credentials and prior experience**
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree a plus
- At least 8 years work experience building skills relevant to this position
- Work experience in the reuse and refill space, especially operational experience, is a plus
