- To maximize the full value of such Power assets on spot markets, TotalEnergies Gas & Power aims to be present at each step of the value chain: from trading on the curve up to Day Ahead optimization, Intraday and ancillary services.
- This optimization of Short Power positions is based on a European framework with aggregation of generation (CCGT, Wind, Solar), flexibilities (DSR, Batteries), and power supply portfolio to maximize value creation for TotalEnergies company.
- The job holder is required to manage and develop a team that is based in Paris, while interacting with multiple teams spread across several European locations.
- The team will act in an uncertain energy commodity trading context with extreme market volatility due to a variety of factors including worldwide economics, energy resource development, political and legislative changes, climate change, and energy demand. Competitive environment for new business and growth opportunities. High stress working environment involving time critical activities.
- The activity is executed on a 7/7 basis, while requiring a strong cooperation with operational 24/7 team for information and positions hand-over.**Team management**:

- Effectively recruit, train, and develop employees,
- Foster team spirit,
- Maintain high level of expertise within the team to be recognized as day-ahead market experts for other teams within the Company (Legal, Risk Control, Long-Term Power Trading ),
- Ensure good relationship with local control centers when handing over day-ahead positions.

**Day-Ahead Operations**:

- Operate in the day ahead markets (FCR/aFRR/mFRR auctions and Day-ahead SPOT auction) ;
- execute the strategies defined,
- send market bids, and bids to the different FCR/aFRR/mFRR auctions,
- Daily production of PnL reports.
- Ensure continuous process improvements in scope of assets and Day-Ahead operations,
- In cooperation with the Optimization team, contribute to the Development and proposal of new operation and bidding strategies,
- Ensure adequate liaison with trading systems and market operations,
- Develop and produce regular market monitoring and evolutions reports,
- Interact daily - under compliance rules - with Dispatching Control Centers to ensure full coordination for updating assets technical constraints & availability and for trading positions handover.
- What is the ideal profile ?
- Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, engineering, business administration or equivalent experience,
- 5+ years of power markets trading experience required,
- In-depth understanding of energy industry, power market structure and risk management,
- Track record of achieving targets,
- Ability to work in a team environment; ability to communicate effectively across teams, and handle IT related projects,
- Management skills,
- Well-organized and capacity to work under pressure,
- Strong desire to be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
