QA Engineer

**JOB SUMMARY**

Evaluates and executes testing procedures to ensure that software meets established quality standards. Develops and writes testing scripts and plans to ensure that software functions as expected. Prepares complex data sets to test logic, error handling and system workflows. Isolates, reproduces, and tracks defects. Verifies fixes. Documents testing according to required procedures.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES; include but not limited to**:

- Responsible for participating in the evolution and execution of procedures for ensuring the quality of new features and releases of software products
- Authors and executes test plans for manual and/or automated tests. Isolates, reproduces and tracks bugs and verifies fixes
- Manages and maintains defect and test case databases
- Maintains Alpha, Beta and Live-to-Site entry criteria
- Assists in the assessment and planning of test efforts required for new functions/features under development
- Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project
- Provides regular updates to manager on project/account status
- Collaborate with the developers, the Software Test & Validation engineer proposes, designs, implements and realizes the test strategies

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent EDA or TCAD experience highly desired
- 4-7 plus years experience
- Usage of defect tracking system and building trends charts
- Prior experience releasing products to the market as the main QA lead Experience reporting to executive management periodically
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Mastery of computer languages: C++, Python, Scripting, Git****:

- Experience testing both GUI and command line products
- Experience automating test cases - knowledge of some automation frameworks
- Strong understanding of code branching strategies and release management in general Experience with QT based GUIs a plus
- Experience in semiconductor industry preferred
- Experience in international and remote team building preferred

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Prolonged periods of sitting
- Prolonged periods of typing
- Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers
- Ability to lift (up) to 15 pounds at times
