**Summary / purpose of the position**

Fondation Ipsen is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with rare diseases through education, outreach, and collaboration. The foundation fosters a global community that connects scientists, healthcare professionals, patients, and advocates. Our mission is to spread knowledge about rare diseases and create networks that support patients and their families.

In this role, the intern will be responsible for:

- Building a Charitable Patient Association Network in Rare Diseases
- Developing a Book Distribution Network
- Establishing a Network of Patient Advocates:
**Main responsibilities / job expectations**

**Building a Charitable Patient Association Network in Rare Diseases**:
You will be responsible for identifying and engaging with patient associations worldwide, helping to create a collaborative network of organizations that support rare disease patients and their families.

**Developing a Book Distribution Network**:
As part of our mission to educate and spread awareness, you will help build a network to distribute free books about rare diseases to patients, healthcare providers, and communities around the globe.

**Establishing a Network of Patient Advocates**:
You will work on connecting with patient advocates, with a particular focus on young advocates, to share their stories and experiences of living with rare diseases. You will help coordinate their engagement and support them in amplifying their voices.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Research and identify patient associations, organizations, and key stakeholders in the rare disease space.
- Facilitate partnerships and collaborations with patient associations, advocacy groups, and other NGOs.
- Work with Fondation Ipsen’s communications team to develop outreach materials that will be shared with network partners.
- Coordinate efforts to distribute free educational books about rare diseases, including logístical planning, partnership outreach, and identifying channels for distribution.
- Engage with patient advocates, particularly younger advocates, to collect, amplify, and share their stories through Fondation Ipsen’s communication platforms.
- Track and report on the progress of network-building efforts, including stakeholder feedback and partnership successes.
- Attend virtual or in-person events, conferences, and meetings to represent Fondation Ipsen and further network-building initiatives.
- Assist with any other tasks related to the foundation’s rare disease programs as needed.

**Knowledge, abilities & experience**

Education / Certifications:

- Currently pursuing a master’s degree in public health, social sciences, communications, international relations, or a related field.

Languages:

- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of French or another language is a plus.

**Key Technical Competencies Required**
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in public health, social sciences, communications, international relations, or a related field.
- Strong interest in rare diseases, global health, patient advocacy, and charitable initiatives.
- Excellent research, communication, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- A passion for social impact, healthcare, and working with NGOs.
