Chef Guide for Food Tours

This is not a job in the traditional sense. We are looking for a Chef Partners in Paris in any area except Montmartre. Every Chef who works with us becomes a part of the company and is paid in Euro, both the tour costs and the profit sharing.

Strong English language skills are important as all tours are conducted in English.

Let me be candid. We are a small food tourism company. We do NOT work with guides but only chefs, sommeliers and grandmothers. (They are, of course, the best chefs in the world)

What is a food tour?

We are on a mission to redefine that. A typical food tour consists of 5 stops of shared bites of the most typical food in an area. We dare to be different.

With Chef PJ in Paris, it begins with breakfast and then a food shopping trip, followed by a multi-course meal in his restaurant.

With Karl in Berlin, it is a 90-minute cultural tour, and guests are then invited into a typical East German apartment for a sit-down dinner with multiple courses in season paired with wines.

With Chef Crestani in Seville, it is an evening stroll of tapas created by new young chefs who are redefining Spanish food.

Maybe in Istanbul, it begins with learning to stretch and top pide and goes into the backstreets of Kadikoi to taste the most delicious foods.

From you, we need a great personality, a passion for food, the ability to share your history and culture and the desire to be a part of building something new and exciting.

If you need to make money immediately, this is not for you. I will explain why. For each ticket sold, you get a percentage to cover the cost of the food and your fee. (in euros) At the end of the fiscal year, you share in the profits of the company, even if your city was not yet profitable. But it takes time.

Once the experience is built, it can take a month to have the initial sales. It takes time to place with the re-sellers and build on multiple platforms. It takes fifteen reviews on TripAdvisor to reach the badge of excellence status, and reviews on Google help as well.

It takes six months to build a food tour, and it becomes profitable in the second year. Not that you have no business in the first 6 months, but it can be spotty, not 5 tours a week.

If you already have a restaurant, a street stand, or a cooking class, it can be incorporated.

Paris is our biggest city, and we have a strong base with Chef PJ. We do not want to copy what he does; we want you to originate your own tour. I will be in Paris in the last week of October to photograph and launch. The winter will be slow, but with enough reviews, spring can be gold. We will launch one to three chefs as long as the tours are significantly different.

**Duties**
- Conduct guided tours for groups, sharing historical facts and engaging stories about the attractions.
- Ensure guest safety and satisfaction throughout the tour experience.
- Manage group dynamics, addressing any questions that may arise during the tour.
- Coordinate logistics and ensure smooth operations.
- Provide insights into the local culinary offerings.
- Maintain knowledge of current events and updates related to the attractions being toured.

**Skills**
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on hospitality and customer service.
- Ability to engage guests with storytelling while maintaining an organised tour flow.

Pay: 70.00€ - 500.00€ per day
