**Your Role**
Tenable is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to support the development of Tenable.ad. As part of this internship, you will:
- Write pragmatic code and strive for simplicity, while bringing technical insights into how to refine and improve the system, ultimately ensuring performance, stability, and an exceptional end user experience.
- Learn the skills necessary for developing security-oriented software in a fast paced, quality oriented environment.
- Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions of Tenable.ad.
**Your Opportunity**
Tenable.ad allows to secure Microsoft Active Directory environments through twofold capabilities: prevention (IOE “Indicator of Exposure”) and detection (IOA “Indicator of Attack”). Our product strive to convey those findings in the best way possible to our customers;
As part of this internship you will focus mainly on enriching some of our new features, increase our user usability, and improve the platform speed and stability. You’ll participate in our technical designs, product code and test code.
**What You'll Need**
- Overall understanding of Active Directory design and its main protocols
- Proficiency in NodeJS
- Proficiency in ReactJS or a similar framework
- Ability to pick up new programming languages and concepts quickly
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills,
- Being a team player: challenging your peers & helping your peers
**And ideally**:
- Currently pursuing a degree in cybersecurity, Information Technology, or CS
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, ideally C#
- Understanding of common security vulnerabilities
- Ability to do basic system’s administration in a cloud lab environment
- Knowledge of programming language theory, and analysis techniques
