**Job Title**: English Language Instructor
**Location**: U.S. Embassy, Paris (Chancery Building and other designated locations or virtual)
**Contract Type**: Task Order-Based Instructional Services

**Position Summary**:
The U.S. Embassy in Paris is seeking a qualified English Language Instructor to deliver high-quality English language instruction to designated students. The instructor will be responsible for planning and conducting engaging lessons tailored to the students' needs and language proficiency levels, in accordance with the embassy’s training objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Deliver one-hour English language lessons, scheduled Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Conduct classes at designated embassy facilities (Chancery Building, Raphael Building, NEO Building, ABMC Building) or virtually as needed.
- Design and follow a structured curriculum for the academic year.
- Evaluate student placement and advancement through appropriate testing and assessment methods.
- Adapt instruction and content based on students' needs, even within homogeneous groups.
- Integrate technology and multimedia (e.g., internet, film, music, social media) to enhance learning outcomes.
- Maintain class sizes at a maximum of 8 students, unless otherwise agreed.
- Provide all instructional materials, including texts, handouts, exercises, and audiovisual aids.
- Ensure clear and neutral pronunciation in English, with no strong regional accent.

**Required Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in English, ESL, a Foreign Language, Humanities, Social Science, or any field accompanied by an ESL/EFL teaching certificate.
- **Experience**: Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching English, ESL, or another foreign language.
- **Skills**:

- Strong written and verbal communication
- Effective classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain grammar and vocabulary clearly
- Experience creating lesson plans and learning assessments
- Competence in using digital tools to support instruction

**Performance Oversight**:
Performance and instructional quality will be monitored and assessed by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
