**Job Description**:

- The MPU32 business unit develops Microchip’s new general-purpose processors based on ARM cores (926, A5 and A7 as of today) and specific chipsets for Smart Energy meters._- check that core, built-in memories, embedded peripherals and more generally all products’ features operate as described in datasheet and connect/interact correctly together_- evaluate chip performance and check product stability in heavy workload condition._
- Significant time is spent analyzing unexpected behavior to determine whether it comes from improper use, bad datasheet description or a design issue. This is precisely the major interest and the high responsibility in this job: be the first to exercise new unreleased products in order to find any misbehavior before the IC reaches customer base, then interact with the whole R&D actors in order to eliminate or circumvent the problem._- Integrate complex IPs drivers and libraries- Define/improve development workflow, including test creation, code sharing mechanism, collaborative development- Continuous development and integration, to ensure archived code quality- Non regression tests automation flow to speed-up early validation phases for new products versions- Support Validation Engineers based in Rousset and remote locations

MPU32 headquarters are in Rousset (France) and extend in the USA, Spain, Romania, the Philippines, India and China mainland.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Key:
- Team player, working well in a team structure- NCG in electronic/embedded software- C programming knowledge, preferably of ARM-based devices.- Knowledges in scripting language (ex Python, Perl, ), subversion systems ( ex svn, GIT, or clear-case)- Debugging skills - troubleshooting and finding the root cause of issues.- Ability to communicate and work with different cultures in different countries.- Availability to occasionally travel for short periods of time within Europe, the US or Asia for training and benchmarking peers’ activities.- Languages required: French (fluent), English

Advantageous:
- Experience with Microchip or Atmel development platforms, tools and ARM-based products- Experience with high speed interfaces: USB, Ethernet, PCIe, NVMe, MIPI, DDR SDRAM, or similar interfaces- Expertise in Embedded Linux and/or RTOS- Assembler programming skills (ARM)

Qualifications:
- MSc or Engineer degree in Software Engineering or Electronics
