**Role Overview**

**We are looking for**:

- Within the Laboratory Process Research (LRP) department at RIC Lyon, you will propose to Solvay innovating and economically performing solutions, technically adapted to the GBUs and the Corporate Functions, that allow to launch new products, new processes (or improved ones), new solutions and new services or a technical support on existing products
- In priority, you will provide process expertise on Process Safety and you will be responsible for the solutions proposed.

**We count on you for**:

- Preferred partner for the Research & Innovation, Industrial functions and GBUs, you will participate on R&I projects, Engineering & Construction projects and provide technical support to Solvay plants:

- You master our process expertise on Process Safety
- You perform R&I studies requested by the client in agreement with its hierarchical superiors, respecting Quality processes, integrating external competencies when needed (Engineering team, collaborations, equipment suppliers)
- You are in charge of the experimental realization of validated studies on process safety
- You are proactive in your field of experience (collaborations with universities or technical centers for example) and you ensure a monitoring of the technical developments in your competencies field
- You are responsible for the R&I process safety competency and you consult process safety experts if needed
- You propose experimental lab programs for internal GBUs or external companies
- You establish the technicians workload planning and work program for the studies that you’re in charge including the possibility of working with our WW Process Safety network
- You manage, on a technical point of view process safety lab technicians
- You are responsible for the studies under your responsibility, performed by the technicians in the team
- You guarantee that the lab activities are managed and performed in agreement with the current Quality standards
- You capitalize knowledge and industrial experiences (internal or external to Solvay)
- You propose investments in agreement with the development strategy of Solvay
- You participate to the internal and external network in the field of Process Safety and contribute to keep / develop cross-fertilization
- You propose and follow-up internships, PhDs, post-doc programs
- You actively participate to the development of the technicians competencies

**You will bring**:

- Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineer
- Process Engineer with solid competencies in process engineering and an expertise from Research to industrial implementation (3-5 years experience)
- Specific education / training on process safety
- Process safety (calorimetry, gas/dust explosion / flammability, vent sizing)
- Precision, Customer Culture, Proactive Collaboration, Other understanding, open-mindedness.
- Written and spoken French
- Written and spoken English
