France Sox Accountant

Rentokil Initial Plc is a top FTSE global leader in support services, operating in over 88 countries and employing around 46,000 people. The Company’s core service lines are pest control and hygiene, together with a variety of other service lines that it clusters together and reports as “Protect and Enhance” businesses (e.g. France Workwear, Ambius Plants, UK Property Care etc). The main global brands are Rentokil, Initial and Ambius.
This newly created role will work with an implementation manager, implement and rollout and embedding of a SOX Program in France and then leading the ongoing support and governance during an 18month contract that may go permanent, working remotely with travel as necessary.
SOX Implementation Tasks - Working with an implementation manager
- Implementation of the the Groups defined SOX program across the French businesses
- Execute phases of SOX implementations to include, country level scoping, walkthroughs, validation of process flows and RACMS with all necessary documentation
- Design a set of standard controls per process, and develop test procedures ensuring test results are appropriately documented and communicated and aligned with the Group test procedures.
- Coordinate with local external auditors to ensure alignment with the annual SOX testing plan
- Implement the Groups communication strategy and materials to ensure a successful change management and education program within the region
- Review EY RACM enhancements and implement additional controls as advised by the Group Head of Internal Controls.

SOX Ongoing Support
- Support the ongoing IT General Controls remediation plan across France
- Regularly review SOX Processes and undertake regular audits of controls in place against RACM documents within France.
- Look for opportunities across the French businesses to standardise the controls and streamline where possible.
- Develop an appropriate support and training program in relation to SOX and the general governance environment
- Look for opportunities to automate controls to reduce impact on the organisation.
- Maintain RACM documentation for the French businesses and update as changes in controls or business processes take place.

Governance
- Own and maintain a France specific governance calendar
- Manage governance items through to completion and ensure action owners are aware of timelines
- Report against the governance calendar and highlight status of key actions
- Continuously update the calendar to ensure it covers all key activities and reflects the changing business
- Ensure any new regulatory or legislative requirements are considered and added as necessary

Other Ad Hoc Task
- Support and Coordinate on both internal and external audits within the UK region.
- Take responsibility for ensuring follow up actions for audit are completed.

**Requirements**:

- Qualified accountant, auditor, or operational risk specialist
- A solid understanding of financial systems and technology
- Ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience of working in a multinational environment
- Hands on experience of process mapping and internal controls
