It's a colorful world - make your mark by joining the BIC team today. ***: **Job description**: Attached to our Research & Development global team, the manager ink innovation will lead a team of ink formulation technicians based in our pen factory, in Marne-la-Vallée. As our expert on ink innovation your main responsibilities will be: - Create state-of-the art optimized new ink formulations using science-based workflows and improved test methods - Propose changes/improvements in formulation and/or processes in order to improve product performance and create new products - Audits and improves as necessary the current BIC Ink Formulation Strategy - Benchmark formulation practices and competitive analysis to ensure BIC captures novel and innovative technology advancements by filing relevant patents - Creates and maintains a network of external partners through contacts and joint development activities which includes raw material suppliers, universities and companies that can support and/or co-develop products - Work with Manufacturing to ensure successful scaleup from lab to production - Adhere to development timelines and work in a well-structured and project oriented technical environment - Prioritize projects, allocate the necessary resources and mentor a team of at least 2-3 technicians - Ensure alignment between R&D, Core Support, Manufacturing, Marketing, QC/QA, Legal, IP, Procurement, Product Safety and Supply Chain functions **Qualifications**: - B.S degree in chemistry, material science, polymer science, pharmacy, cosmetic science or chemical engineering. M.S or Ph.D optional - Basic knowledge of dyes, pigments, formulations related to writing instruments or any other inks/coatings/paints formulations (Natural/ biosourced formulation knowledge would be a plus) - At least 1 year experience in writing instruments//ink/paint R&D in a manufacturing environment - Knowledge of key analytical instrumentation techniques related to formulation development and production - Project management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines - Knowledge of six sigma logic tools would be a significant advantage - Experience with leading and mentoring teams would also be an advantage - Excellent communication skills in French and English required BIC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
