Magellium (Artal Group), with its 300 employees, is an independent player, specialized in the value chain of remote sensing data (from satellite or drone sensors to the use in Earth observation systems and services, cartography and Geointelligence) which promotes space expert technologies, software, signal processing and geomatics.

The specificity of these projects lies in the combined expert use of scientific or algorithmic remote sensing techniques, combination or thematic fusion of data and engineering - methodological, organizational and IT - in an environment dedicated to scientific quality and operational performance. These projects are generally carried out in a multi-partner european context, in strong interaction with scientific experts and IT industry partners. The customers and the major stakeholders are space/**environmental** agencies and major in the field of **geophysics**.

**Description du poste**:
Within the Magellium Earth Observation unit, you will be in charge of a highly structuring project as project manager: the FLEX DISC project - ESA Fluorescence Experiment Mission (Earth Explorer) - Data Innovation and Science Cluster.

Magellium has been awarded by ESA the leadership of this project, based on a large European scientific and industrial partnership. The FLEX DISC project includes various activities that are carried out collectively, according to the specific responsibilities of each of the partners. Different types of activities:

- Scientific and algorithmic activities for the best exploitation of the FLEX mission in its scientific and technical objectives
- Algorithmic performance estimation activities, user data scientific performance, calibration activities to ensure that the measurements meet their scientific requirements
- Prototype developments to demonstrate achievement of the mission objectives
- Development of the operational processing chain that will be integrated in the FLEX mission ESA ground segment
- Development of quality control tools, as well as calibration and validation tools
- Development of a collaborative platform allowing users to access data, perform their own processing and contribute by proposing algorithms and products
- Participation in the in-flight commissioning phase of the mission
- Operational exploitation of the mission by ensuring the adequacy of the data from the mission with respect to its objectives

Your position will consist of ensuring the overall project coordination, both internally (activities entrusted to Magellium) and externally (for the entire consortium and in relation with ESA).

You will be responsible of the project main objectives at contractual, technical and financial levels.

Your main responsibilities will be:

- Overall coordination of the consortium and of Magellium teams
- Interface with ESA Project Officer and stakeholders, and with all partners, for the completion of the project, the main orientations, and developments
- Organisation, planning and activity monitoring
- Management of project resources (human, material, financial) necessary for the completion of the project
- Monitoring of costs, deadlines, compliance with contractual commitments
- Identification of risks and mitigation actions
- Coordination of the main phases of the project life cycle in the context of Earth Observation from Space (phases, reviews, processes, associated deliverables, etc.)
- Decision-making for technical choices and orientations within the project in coordination with the technical teams, the partners and the customer
- Development of the activities related to the project, as an extension or in areas connected with the project

**Profil recherché**:
Holder of an Engineering, PhD degree, or equivalent, you hold a robust and validated experience in project management in the space field, Earth Observation or equivalent fields, ideally acquired through significant participation in a large-scale European project.
- Required skills :_
- Knowledge of organisational and project management techniques in scientific or technical fields
- Knowledge of methodologies related to the development life cycle and engineering standards (ECSS or equivalent)
- Ability to discuss/negotiate with technical contacts: customers, subcontractors, partners
- Ability to write, present the activity, lead representation and communication actions
- Management of teams and complex projects
- Experience in hierarchical functions
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Other skills:_
- Scientific knowledge in the field of Earth observation, remote sensing
- Knowledge of software developments, in a scientific and operational context
- Strong adaptability and ability to tackle new technical topics
