**A** Glimpse into Everyday Life on the Product Design team**

As a Senior Product Designer - Design Systems at Medius, you will play a critical role in shaping and scaling North Star, our design system, while also driving strategic planning for its adoption and evolution. This role requires a balance of hands-on design expertise and leadership, as you will both contribute directly to North Star and guide its strategic direction.
You have a deep understanding of UI/UX principles, systems thinking, and scalable design patterns. You’re comfortable working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure consistency and efficiency across our product suite. You are also a strategic thinker who can align North Star initiatives with business objectives and advocate for its importance across the organization.
As a senior member of the Product Design team, you’ll help establish best practices, mentor designers, and refine how Medius approaches design at scale. You’ll work in a fast-paced, iterative environment where collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement are key.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- **Design System Development**: Define, design, and maintain scalable components, patterns, and guidelines within **North Star** to ensure a cohesive experience across Medius products.
- **Leadership & Strategy**: Act as a design system champion, driving adoption, defining objectives, and shaping the **North Star** roadmap in alignment with business and product goals.
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Partner with product managers, engineers, and designers to ensure seamless integration of **North Star** into product development workflows.
- **Governance & Documentation**: Establish governance models, contribution guidelines, and documentation to maintain quality and consistency at scale.
- **User Advocacy**: Conduct research, gather feedback, and iterate on **North Star** to meet the evolving needs of users and internal teams.
- **Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing**: Support other designers by sharing best practices, leading workshops, and fostering a culture of design excellence.
- **Communication & Facilitation**: Act as the bridge between designers and front-end developers, helping them plan their work from a **North Star** perspective, ensuring smooth collaboration and alignment across teams.

**What We’re Looking For**:
You’re perfect for this role if you have:

- 4+ years of Product Design experience, with a focus on design systems.
- Strong understanding of UI, UX, and systems thinking, with experience building and maintaining design systems.
- Ability to balance hands-on design work with strategic planning and leadership.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineers and product managers to implement and evolve design systems.
- **Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to guide and align designers and front-end developers in planning and executing their work effectively.**:

- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to advocate for **North Star** across teams.
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving initiatives forward.
- Spoken and written English skills required.

**Nice-to-Haves**:

- Experience working on FinTech or technical SaaS products.
- Familiarity with Figma, design tokens, and front-end development principles.
- Experience establishing governance models for design systems.
- Interest or experience in AI and automation in SaaS design.
