Senior Contracts Manager, Actuation Supply Chain

**Role Purpose**:
Provide day-to-day advice, expertise, support and guidance to colleagues across the Actuation Systems sites in respect of contractual matters, taking a solution focused approach to business problems and providing a risk based analysis of options available

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Be responsible for the drafting, presentation and management of new agreements and contract clauses in line with Corporate guidelines across the UK, France, Italy and USA
- Conduct contracts risk and opportunity analysis
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to corporate Collins processes, policies, and approval of contracts, leading the approvals required for the Legal, Contracts & Compliance function
- Where disputes over contract terms arise, provide expert advice and support to the team in terms of interpretation of contractual requirements. Be the Contracts focal to the Supply Chain team for all claims and assertions made by and to the business, ensuring the business positions are mitigated and maximised (where applicable) to the greatest extent possible
- Work with and lead the relationship of external legal counsel on specific projects as and when they arise across the sites to ensure the business risk position is minimised to the maximum extent possible
- Provide the business with clear and coherent advice to mitigate its corresponding contractual risks
- Work with the Supply Chain teams across the sites to ensure that appropriate contractual requirements are included in business cases
- Act as a deputy to the Contracts Lead as and when required, including engagement with the central Legal Contracts & Compliance function representing the Actuation Systems Business Unit
- Support the development of the wider Supply Chain Contracts Team across the Actuation Systems Business Unit
- Be able to negotiate contracts in English, in verbal and written form

**Experience and Skills**:

- Professional understanding of all the contractual aspects of supply chain activity in an international environment, including cross border high complexity deals (USA, UK, Italy, France)
- Excellent written and oral communication is essential, together with attention to detail, good problem solving and negotiation ability
- Experience and excellent proficiency in contract drafting and providing legal advice to the contract drafting process
- Experience and excellent proficiency in negotiating with third parties, with a track record of obtaining contractually beneficial positions for the business ensuring its interests are well protected
- Experience and high attention to detail in monitoring compliance and ensuring the flowdown and communication of supply chain contractual requirements
- Experience in communicating and presenting to senior leadership teams internally on an ad-hoc basis
- Experience in driving improvements and strategy initiatives to improve the methods of working within a Contracts function
- High degree of knowledge of both common law and civil code legal jurisdictions is preferred, including a high understanding of jurisdictional risk areas and mitigations that may be implemented by the business
