The Corporate Governance & Secretariat function (CG&S) serves as principal advisor to boards of directors on corporate governance matters and leads and implements a world-class corporate governance practice throughout the HSBC Group providing end to end governance advice.

**What you will do**:
This role supports the Head of Corporate Governance & Secretariat and Company Secretary Continental Europe in delivering the highest standards of Company Secretarial support and advice to the Board of Directors of HSBC Continental Europe in line with an appropriate and consistent corporate governance framework to support the delivery of Group strategy and to satisfy the expectations of our stakeholders.

In this role you will:

- Provide advice and support, in particular to the Board of Directors and the Nomination & Corporate Governance Committee of HSBC Continental Europe, on corporate governance and statutory, legal and regulatory requirements as well as best practice requirements and standards through an appropriate and consistent corporate governance framework.
- Understand and act upon changes in legislation and regulation within the EU and France, with particular regard to the continuing corporate governance obligations of HSBC Continental Europe
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and operational objectives of the Global Company Secretarial function through the Company Secretary Continental Europe
- Support the Company Secretary Continental Europe and other members of the Continental Europe CG&S function in the performance of their responsibilities, as applicable
- Build networks and relationships with key stakeholders within country, Region and the Group. Including, maintaining and developing positive and professional working relationships with the Boards of Directors and members of the global CG&S function
- Maintain corporate governance and internal control documents and policies, including but not limited to governance-related Board policies, Memorandum for Directors, or Non-Executive Director induction pack.
