ITER is a unique, first-of-a-kind project that aims to demonstrate the technical and scientific feasibility of fusion energy. Jacobs one of three partners making up the Consortium MOMENTUM (construction management-as-agent contractor) is project managing the construction and assembly of more than one million components in the world’s largest fusion reactor. As a construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include a balance of the plant and the Tokamak itself. **Job description**

Jacobs is recruiting a Cost & Quantity Survey Engineer to work on the ITER Project near Aix-en-Provence, France. You will join the TCC CMA project team directly reporting to the Project Delivery Manager (PDM) and Contract Administrator.

You will be responsible for:

- Taking direction from and reporting directly to the CMA Contract Administrator and Project Delivery Manager
- Directly responsible for the quantitative survey of the activity of the contractors
- Estimating quantities, costs, and time scales for material and labor evaluating proposals from Contractors and negotiating new rates that were not included in the initial Contract.
- Producing progress reports and fair assessments to support contractual work package instruction, variation, claim and invoicing processes.
- Participating, and leading as applicable, negotiations with contractors and clients, facilitating the prompt reaching of commercial agreements. Provides a focus on achieving the success of the project whilst at the same time respecting the commercial and business interests of all the parties.

Please note the job offer would be based on a local French contract - this would not be an expatriate assignment.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**: Profile**:
You have international experience performing QS activities of construction equipment and materials in a large-scale project environment, preferably in a FIDIC Engineering organization.

You have a high sense of rigor and analytical approach, with the ability to produce clear and reliable reports supporting management decisions.

You have experience in working in a multi-national environment and cognizance of different cultural requirements

You are performance-driven with a clear ability to lead and provide clear and concise direction.

You have strong collaboration and negotiation skills, with experience in reaching commercial quantities and rate agreements

You have the capability to understand and fulfill customer needs (that may be expressed either formally or informally) in order to obtain full client satisfaction, within a context that is contractually acceptable to the JV and to the Client and different parties to the contracts

You are an excellent communicator and have interpersonal skills along with the creative solution and problem-solving skills

You are fluent in English, with additional French preferred

- Experience: more than 7 years in a similar QS role.
