**The position**:
Industrial companies rely on Cosmo Tech to predict the evolution of their organization, to better understand the impact of their decisions and to optimize all levels of enterprise planning. Finding the optimal decisions in a complex industrial context requires the ability to take into account the complexity of the industrial process, the uncertain environment in which it is placed, as well as the operational constraints that may be imposed on a decision. Powerful optimization algorithms can be designed to address these problems, but these algorithms can be limited in performance when the complexity and size of the problem increases.

As part of your final year internship, we propose to investigate the potential of different methods to improve automatic decision recommendations. The internship will start with a focus on constrained optimization, in which we try to ensure that the optimal decisions will satisfy operational constraints, and may evolve towards the use of advanced techniques such as differential programming and reinforcement learning.

The internship will start with a literature review on modern optimization algorithms as well as the realization of prototypes that will allow us to compare different methods and implementation designs. The results will be validated against traditional algorithms, and the benefits of the different approaches will be compared as the system complexity and size increase.

**Your profile**:

- You are preparing an Engineering degree
- Good oral and written communication, proficient in written English
- Good knowledge of Python (numpy, scipy, scikit-learn)
- Basic knowledge of optimization and machine learning
- Strong involvement in the tasks entrusted.
- Open-mindedness, team spirit et autonomous
